She is still very small, but terribly talented: they cook, read poems, quickly add numbers … And not from under the stick, but solely at their own request. At least, this is what the parents of the prodigies say, who became participants in the First Channel show “Best of All.”
November 24 2016
Nicole Plieva, 6 years old, Moscow.
The girl knows by heart over 100 poems. In the show, the stars called her the names of poets, and Nicole read excerpts from their works. I coped with all the tasks.
Mom Zalina says:
– I began to read poetry to my daughter early, because I myself love them. We started with Pushkin, then there were the periods of Krylov, Nekrasov, Tyutchev, then Mandelstam and Gumilyov. Her last love has already been about six months – Brodsky. They call me now and ask: “How many verses do you learn a day?” And we do not teach them, Nicole remembers by ear and knows more than a hundred.
When she was three and a half years old, we went to the children’s reading competition as spectators. And then Nicole caught fire, said that she also wanted to participate. I approached the organizers and asked if she could perform out of competition. They doubted at first, because Nicole was the smallest, but they were allowed. She went out, read the fable “The Elephant and the Pug”, for which she received the Audience Award. From that day on, the contests began.
At the age of four, she was awarded in the State Duma for reading Yesenin’s poems about Russia. At the age of five, she read Viktor Dragunsky’s “The Secret Becomes Clear” at Sergei Bezrukov’s Provincial Theater and won the Grand Prix. In the spring of this year, she won the Russian Cup for artistic creation “Assembly of Arts” among children from 5 to 12 years old.
But this does not mean that Nicole’s whole life consists of poetry. She goes to kindergarten, does ballet, goes to the children’s style academy, draws well, sings, participates in fashion shows, and has already starred in commercials. She has many hobbies. And poetry is just what she loves. I think they are close to her, because Nicole has a good ear. For example, she doesn’t like the sound of Korney Chukovsky at all, she always cried when I read it to her. Nicole chooses those poems where she feels the musical rhythm, her pleasant melodiousness. We never have a day without a bedtime story or a poem. My daughter falls asleep to my voice or audiobook.
I’m not trying to control the child, I just help her develop. Today she wants to be a doctor like a mother, to dance Odette at the Bolshoi Theater, and recently, when asked who she dreams of becoming, she answered: a pancake taster.

Lev Shmargun, 5 years old, Saskatoon, Canada.
During the program, the boy himself decorated a three-tier cake with cream roses.
Dad Igor says:
– Lev often visited my work in the pastry shop, watched how I cook, wrap the cakes with mastic (material from powdered sugar. – Approx. “Antenna”), make decorations, and one fine day he wanted to try. My son liked to sculpt figurines. Now he knows how to make various compositions from mastic himself, paint cakes with a special airbrush, decorate with cream roses using a pastry bag. This he showed on the air of the show.
It is too early to judge what profession Leo will choose. Now he says he wants to make cakes. But I think he is at such an age when every child dreams of being like dad, so he looks up to me. However, Leo generally loves to cook and even clean the kitchen. He is happy to help his mother at home, he also has a signature dish – spaghetti with salmon, Roquefort sauce and Parmesan cheese.
Two years ago, our family moved from Ukraine to Canada, so Leo, by the age of five, speaks three languages: Ukrainian, Russian and English. Now she is attending the preparatory class of a French school, where she is learning the fourth language, and next year she will become a first grader. Naturally, in addition to cooking, he has other hobbies: he has been swimming and karate for two years.
Ali Bayzhigit, 11 years old, Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan.
Instantly added three-digit numbers, and calculated the number of calories in food faster than Galkin on a calculator.
Mom Gulnara says:
– I tried to find what my son’s abilities are for. She took him to swim, karate, offered to study music. When the teacher was invited to listen to him, he said: “The boy is the future Caruso!” But Ali said, “Mom, I don’t want a piano,” and ran away to play football. So it didn’t work out with the music. When my son was six years old, I decided to take him to the courses of mental mathematics (a way of learning rapid counting. – Approx. “Antenna”), and the talent manifested itself. Where Ali’s classmates gave up, he easily coped. Ali devoted only 20-30 minutes a day to classes, while he continued to play with his peers and did everything in time. Now he instantly adds and subtracts numbers up to five digits in his head, and does it in several rows. That is, counting at a time how much 988 + 505 – 475 will be is not a problem for him. Sometimes, when we go to the store together, I tell my son how much money I have and ask him to calculate how much the groceries will cost so as not to go beyond the budget. And he helps.
This summer, in a math course, I was offered to shoot a video about Ali’s abilities and send me to the Amazing People show, where they are looking for talented guys. I recorded a video, I didn’t expect anything, but Ali was called. True, we did not get to the project, because at the same time the international Olympiad “Mathematics without Borders” was being held in Bulgaria. Our daughter also went there. Ali did not prepare, but received “silver”, and his daughter “bronze”. After the Olympics, we were offered to participate in the “Best of all”. The son then did not understand all the scales. When I saw the first episode on TV, I was so worried, poor man, that he could not sleep until two in the morning. He really liked Maxim Galkin, was surprised to say to me: “Mom, he is like all of us!”
After this program, Ali began to understand that not everyone is given mathematics, so fast to count is cool. But he doesn’t feel any special. Leads the same lifestyle as an ordinary child. She took him from school now, he came all wet because he was playing football in the yard. Naturally, in any free moment, he immediately grabs the tablet, games. I don’t know if my son will use mathematics in the future, but for now I like it, let him study.

Timofey Tsoi, 5 years old, Moscow.
He named the capitals of Paraguay, Madagascar, Honduras without mistakes. Looking at the flags, he said what kind of country.
Mom Anastasia says:
– The son, one might say, from the cradle was not interested in toys, like his peers, but in letters. At a year and 7 months, when I didn’t really speak yet, I already knew the alphabet. He came to us with a book, pointed to a letter and waited for us to tell us what it was called. At two years and 10 months, Tim learned to read. We did not study with him on purpose, did not hire a teacher, Timofey himself was drawn to books. Once his dad bought him thematic cards with cars, and so Tim remembered all the brands of cars. For some reason it was important for him to learn them, sort them alphabetically.
And just recently he switched to countries. We have a globe in our apartment – the son once approached him, and how he sat down! He began to tell us which country has which capital, then he saw a political map, and he could not be torn from the flags. He has a photographic memory: he perceives poorly by ear, but if he glances, he will remember. We didn’t even think of teaching him this. What for? Our passion for geography has become a mystery. Tim always loved to sing and said that he would become a rich singer, and then there were flags. Yes, he traveled, was in Germany, Greece, Bulgaria, Vietnam. But it all started not with trips, but with a globe.
Now he draws maps and, as before, composes songs. Sings just all day long. I myself am a singer (a former member of the “Strelki” group Anastasia Kovaleva performs under the name Nastasia, – Approx. “Antenna”) and, looking at his zeal, all the time I propose to make music professionally. Timofey does not want to study, he says that he can do everything anyway. He has such a trait: if he is carried away by something, he sits over it for a long time, and then switches to something completely new. For four months now she has been attending Waldorf kindergarten, where children of different ages study together. They are developed as individuals, taught to communicate. Timofey used to say that he was not interested in playing with other children, but now his son has friends.
Denis Podsvirov, 9 years old, Moscow.
On the program, he hit the ball in 1150 without dropping it. Pogrebnyak admitted: when he was the same age as Denis, he could only mint the ball 50 times.
Papa Ilya says:
– The child raved about football from the age of three, but at that age he was not taken anywhere. Therefore, we gave Denis to tennis. He studied for six months and said that he was not interested. Only when his son was five, he was able to be attached to the football section. And then, as his first coach later admitted, at first he wanted to refuse because of too young age. But we were able to convince him to at least just look at Denis and evaluate his abilities. So the son was taken to the section, where he worked with children a year or two older than himself.
The talent for sports was immediately visible, but noticeable successes appeared after a year and a half. At 6,5 years old, Denis set his own record: he minted the ball 3900 times without dropping it. Now he is studying at the football academy, participating in tournaments, and has already won prizes in various teams. So far, the coach does not make any predictions for his future career, this will become visible by the age of 14-15, but he praises our Deniska.
The son still dreams of becoming a professional footballer, and we in the family contribute to this. I study with him, he takes individual lessons from the coach. By the way, it was the very same coach who advised us to send an application for casting in the show. He said that participation in such projects liberates children, removes internal clamps, and children go to the field completely different. On the program, Denis made 1150 hits on the ball without dropping it. My son had a lot of impressions. Dynamo forward Pavel Pogrebnyak was also there. Denis talked to him, took a picture.
Evnika Sadvakasova, 9 years old, Pavlodar, Kazakhstan.
In 30 seconds, she hit the punching bag 221 times, hitting the former world boxing champion Nikolai Valuev. Its speed is 350 strokes during this time.
Mom Anna says:
– My husband Rustam is a candidate for master of sports in boxing, and all our seven children are engaged in boxing. At first, Evnika just watched her dad, older sister, brother and uncles in the gym, tried to hit the pear, and at 4 she already began to train. The husband immediately noticed her talent, that she is very fast, and began to train.
Once we shot a video about Evnik and posted it on the Internet. They found out about my daughter in other countries, they began to invite her to Germany, Great Britain, the USA to shoot in programs. In London, she showed her record – in 30 seconds she struck 350 blows on a pear.
Are her peers afraid? Not at all, although she is strong, she is a real girl: calm, shy, plays with dolls, loves smart dresses. And yet she loves boxing. Due to constant trips abroad, we transferred our daughter to home schooling. She goes to school twice a year, takes exams. Her favorite subjects are geography, history and, of course, physical education. The daughter’s schedule is scheduled until the New Year. One of these days, they will come from America to make a plot about Evnik for a film about geeks.
My daughter is not yet involved in sparring, Rustam says that it is not necessary until the age of 12. But her older sister and brother have already competed. Now Evnika dreams of becoming a professional athlete. But I do not know if she will lose interest in the future.

Bogdan Frolov, 9 years old, Kirov.
In the show, he braided the braids of the Fabrika group members in different ways. The girls noted that Bogdan has a light hand.
Mom Oksana says:
– My son woke up interest in braiding when he was a year and a half. At first it was some kind of strings, strings. By the age of four, Bogdan began to do hairstyles on dolls. Grandparents were indignant: “A boy should play cars, why are you following the child’s lead?” My husband and I did not limit Bogdan in his hobby, and for the eight years we presented a mannequin.
In the spring, I found an ad on the Internet about the Interregional Competition for Young Hairdressers in our city. Bogdan turned out to be the youngest contestant and the only boy. Despite this, the jury awarded him first place. When they found out about this in the children’s camp, the girls lined up for him. If earlier he tried to clean up the dolls and the mannequin when visiting guests, then confidence appeared in him. Now Bogdan connects the future only with the profession of a stylist. He is improving in creating hairstyles, is interested in make-up.
Mikhail Osipov, 3 years old, Moscow.
He played a game with the former world chess champion Anatoly Karpov. He offered him a draw, but Misha did not back down and lost in time. Karpov said that the boy played amazingly for his age.
Daddy Yuri says:
– My father plays chess well, although he never studied. He thinks well, sees the position. In this regard, nature rested on me, but Misha passed on the skill. We did not teach him specifically, I played with my father, and Misha, he was 2,5 years old then, could stand next to us for an hour. He watched, asked where the figure was, how it walked. After that, I began to teach him. I thought that there would be enough interest for a week, and I would get bored, but three months passed, and then I realized that my theoretical training was not enough, I needed to hire a specialist. I found an experienced teacher – Ekaterina Popova, the wife of the grandmaster, winner of the European Rapid Chess Championship Ivan Popov. The son participates in tournaments, won first place in the regional championship.
It was Ekaterina who advised us to send an application for participation in the show “Best of All”. Of course, he did not expect that on the set he would meet his idol, the twelfth world chess champion Anatoly Karpov. It was a shock for him, plus cameras, people, Misha was worried and burst into tears. In fact, he never cries if he loses. He always accepts defeat with dignity, congratulates the opponent on the victory, and then asks me to analyze the mistakes in order to understand what went wrong. After filming, he told everyone in a row for a whole week that he had played with Karpov and wanted to take another lesson from him.
When Misha was just getting involved, he said that he was interested in how the pieces move, and recently to the question: “Why do you like chess?” answered: “Because you can win.” In fact, he is a versatile child. He thinks well, knows geography well. He also plays board games, loves football very much. Still, chess is the most global hobby. He wants to become a world champion, and also a doctor, at the same time. I believe that chess teaches him to make decisions and take responsibility for them. Unlike football, here you will not shove anyone off, you will not say that the weather is not like that, others played badly. Here he himself was mistaken – he himself is to blame. And Misha has this understanding from an early age, not only in the game, but also in life. If he does something wrong, he always wants to understand where he was wrong. I really like this trait.
