Waiting for a baby is an exciting and responsible period. A well-known remedy for colds – ginger – can be consumed by pregnant women practically without restrictions. This natural medicine boosts immunity and helps relieve nausea.

Can ginger root be pregnant: indications and contraindications

In some situations, folk and non-traditional remedies are preferable to chemical medicines. Ginger root is successfully used to stimulate the immune system, get rid of the first symptoms of a cold and relieve attacks of nausea. That is why it is recommended for pregnant women.

Ginger Helps Pregnant Women Cope with Cold Symptoms

Taking ginger is recommended:

  • with a cold, but subject to a body temperature not higher than 37 ° C, otherwise it causes a strong fever;
  • during periods of epidemics – as a natural immunostimulant;
  • with toxicosis of the first trimester – as an antiemetic.

Contraindications:

  • idiosyncrasy;
  • fever;
  • heat;
  • the period is more than 38 weeks, since ginger thins the blood and, in the case of the onset of labor, can provoke bleeding.

If you have not used ginger before, then introduce it into your diet gradually to avoid possible allergies.

Recipes for pregnant women based on ginger for colds

Classic ginger tea:

  • take 5 cm of root, half a lemon and 2 liters of water;
  • peel and cut ginger into small cubes;
  • boil water, put cubes in it and cook for 8-10 minutes;
  • cut the lemon into wedges and put in the broth;
  • an hour later the drink can be drunk.

Quick Warming Tea:

  • grate the root on a fine grater so that you get about 1 tsp;
  • prepare 2 cups of lemon and some lime honey;
  • pour green tea leaves and grated ginger into the teapot, pour 0,5 liters of hot, but not boiling water;
  • after 7-15 minutes, pour the drink into cups, serve with lemon and honey.

Invigorating Mint Drink:

  • take 5-6 fresh mint leaves, an orange slice and 1 cm of ginger root;
  • cut the root finely with a ceramic knife;
  • squeeze the juice out of the orange;
  • place all the ingredients in a ceramic mug, pour boiling water over and let it brew for 15-20 minutes, drink with honey or jam.

Most drinks can be supplemented with natural sweeteners – honey, cinnamon, stevia.

Ginger drinks both warm and quench your thirst. They increase tone, help fight colds and fatigue. If the pregnancy is difficult, it is better to coordinate the intake of ginger with your doctor.
