Teeth gradually darken with age, moreover, this happens most quickly in people who smoke a lot, often drink coffee and strong tea, and do not provide high-quality oral care. However, even if you notice that the enamel has taken on an unpleasant yellow or even brownish tint, it is not too late to correct the situation.
How to make your teeth white at home
First of all, you need to quit smoking and minimize the use of foods and drinks that stain the enamel. This is not only strong tea and coffee, but even tomato and soy sauce, red wine, carbonated drinks with dyes, bright berries and fruits, including cherries, blackberries, pomegranates.
Dentists advise you to remember a simple rule: the product that can stain a white T-shirt can also affect the shade of the enamel. So you can easily determine for yourself what is worth eating and what is not.
Of course, it is not necessary to completely abandon natural dyes. A few simple rules will help you get your teeth white back faster and keep it:
- cold drinks that stain the enamel must be drunk through a straw
- bright berries and fruits should often prefer apples, melons, pears
- after eating or drinking tea, it is recommended to rinse your mouth
- coloring foods and drinks do not need to be kept in the mouth for a long time
Use special bleaching pastes and powders. They help to effectively remove plaque, clean and brighten the enamel, remove the yellow tint. However, in such cases it is very important to strictly adhere to the instructions: potent agents can destroy enamel if used too often.
Wipe your teeth with cotton wool soaked in hydrogen peroxide 2-3 times a week. After that, you need to immediately rinse your mouth. Peroxide has a strong whitening effect and it is on its basis that many products used in dentistry are created.

If you do not want to whiten your teeth at the dentist, buy a special product and whiten your teeth at home. Of course, you still have to visit a specialist to check the condition of the enamel and recommend a bleaching agent, but the procedure will be cheaper, and it may be more convenient for you. You will have to wait longer for the effect, but the result will not disappoint you.
A good option is to use a gel. It is applied to the mouth guard and kept in the mouth for 30-40 minutes a day for a week. This tool helps to cope with yellowish plaque and brighten the enamel of the teeth by several tones. The effectiveness of the gel depends on the shade of the teeth: the darker it is, the more noticeable the result will be.
