How to save a salted dish
 

It is very easy to spoil a dish by oversalting it – it can happen even with an experienced hostess. What to do? There are very effective methods for removing excess salt from food. Remember how you can remove excess salt from certain foods:

– Rinse over-salted rice, pasta, buckwheat and other cereals with running water, and then boil for a couple of minutes in water without salt.

– Salted sauerkraut must also be rinsed with cold running water before use. Of course, this will slightly affect its taste and reduce its benefits, but in general, the product will remain on the table. Also, salted sauerkraut can be used to cook dishes with it, but keep in mind that you do not need to salt them.

– If you have oversalted dough, then make another portion without salt and mix it with oversalted. Do not be discouraged if there is a lot of dough, as a rule, it can be frozen.

 

– If you have oversalted the soup, then it is not advisable to add water to it – this will spoil its taste. But if you have broth, you can add it calmly. You can also save salty soup by boiling several whole potatoes in it, and also adding pasta or rice. Take out the potatoes after 10-15 minutes, and if you don’t plan to leave it in the soup, it is better to cook the rice in a cheesecloth bag.

– Sour cream sauce and an undersalted side dish can help make goulash and roasts less salty.

– In too salty minced meat, add grated potatoes, zucchini or finely chopped cabbage.

– To the salted vegetable stew, simply add more vegetables and blended tomatoes and give extra cooking time.

– You can remove excess salt from boiled vegetables by boiling them for a few minutes in unsalted water.

– Dishes with mushrooms will be saved by unsalted sauces, sour cream or unsalted garnish.

– Salted fish can be revived with sour cream sauce.
