How to Quickly and Easily Reorder Paragraphs in a Word Document

When creating a document, we most often start with a draft, which we make changes in the process of work. You edit it, rewrite it, and change the structure. Changing the structure, most likely, you will need to swap some paragraphs. Next, we will show a simple way to do this.

Determine which paragraphs need to be swapped. Then, go to the paragraph that should be the first, and enter a number as the first character 1 (and a space after it). In the same way, enter the appropriate numbers in all paragraphs to be moved.

Note: When you add numbers to the beginning of paragraphs, Word can convert them to a numbered list. If this happens, click Ctrl + Zto cancel the conversion. The entered number will remain in its original form. By the way, if the number of paragraphs that you want to sort is more than nine, then be sure to enter a zero before each single-digit number (01, 02, 03, etc.).

Select all numbered paragraphs. If they are not adjacent, then select the first paragraph, then with the key pressed Ctrl, select the remaining paragraphs.
