After about 22-25 weeks of intrauterine life, the child begins to put pressure on the internal organs, the load on the muscles and joints increases. During the second trimester, your doctor may recommend wearing a supportive elastic waistband or underpants.

Types of prenatal bandages:
- The fixing elastic briefs are convenient because they are not visible under the clothes. They hold the growing belly well, relieve the load from the lower back.
- Belt – elastic tape with Velcro. Easily adjusts to size. Put on over clothing or underwear, it is comfortable in both heat and cold.
- Universal – suitable for use from the 20th week and after childbirth. This elastic belt has one part wide, which supports the back during pregnancy. The front part with Velcro is narrow.
Choose a bandage strictly according to your size and be sure to try it on beforehand. Do not buy it from your hands, the belts, when worn actively, stretch and lose their characteristics.
How to Choose and Wear a Prenatal Maternity Brace?
A quality bandage must be purchased either at a pharmacy or in a specialized store. It is advisable to try on several models, this will help navigate the richness of choice. For subsequent pregnancies, it is better to purchase a new elastic belt or briefs.
How to wear support:
- Put on an elastic belt strictly lying down. The same applies to cowards.
- Place the lumbar part under your back, fasten the Velcro just above the pubis.
- Stand up, make sure you are comfortable, not pinching or pressing anywhere.
- Wearing time is no more than 3 hours in a row, then you need to remove the elastic tape in the same way while lying down for at least 30 minutes.
If the baby protests, pushes hard and you are clearly uncomfortable, remove the brace immediately. It is better to briefly change the rhythm of life, rest more often and engage in permitted physical education.
The prenatal brace will help you get through the second and third trimesters comfortably. Choose it individually and observe the frequency of wearing.
