How to bottle fish: pike, zander, burbot

To successfully catch a bottle, you need to choose the right place – the starting point. If you succeed, then there is no doubt that the catch will not have to wait long.

Stage one – place

Ideally, this will be a duct. The longer and narrower it is, the better. A weak current is our best friend. Get ready in advance for what you may not find the first time.

Stage two – live bait

For these purposes, a small rudd is used. The fish is hooked either by the lip or under the dorsal fin.

Stage three – bottle

There are no problems at all. Its dimensions depend on the size of the live bait, therefore, you can use both a liter and a three-liter plastic bottle. In fact, the principle of fishing with a bottle is not much different from the plastic circles known to everyone. How is it going? You fasten a live bait. Then measure the distance on the line from the hook to the depth you are interested in, wind the line by the elastic and fasten it. You need to put the bottle vertically, or at an angle – pour water into it. The position will be adjusted by volume. In the process of fishing, the fish that is hooked makes a sharp jerk, which leads to the fact that the fishing line breaks off the elastic, begins to unwind, as a result of which the inclination of the bottle changes. It remains only to swim closer and timely cut.

Making a pike bottle

Making a bottle for pike fishing is quite simple. Any person who has never even dealt with the manufacture of gear and equipment for fishing will cope with this task. The complexity of this design is somewhere on the level of “Very skillful hands” on TV. And therefore, there is nothing difficult in assembling something similar at home, or right on the spot. Taking a suitable size (based on the dimensions of the live bait fish) plastic containers, we wind about four meters of strong nylon thread.

Then you will need to securely fasten it to the lid. For this, not only a knot is used, but also an elastic band. Another elastic band will need to be fixed, and a triple hook is tied to the cord. A sinker is tied in front of the hook or behind the tackle. Fishing for a bottle is also good because you go fishing without a fishing rod at all, come home with a catch, and for a long time observe the surprise of those around you, who will be frankly perplexed about how and what you caught a pike. But at times, large specimens of fish are caught on bottle tackle.
