Vision – create visual peace around you
The contemplation of water is always calming. The interior of most spas is created according to this principle – water splashes in bathtubs, murmurs in fountains … At home it is worth using this idea. For example, get large vases made of clear glass and colored stones at the bottom to pour water into them and place flowers.
No unnecessary things and clutter that will interfere with immersion in yourself. Our choice is sophisticated simplicity with a minimum of detail.
Take care of light sources. Daytime is best; if the lighting is artificial, then soft and subdued will do. Light candles; use white and all light colors are traditional spa colors.
During your spa treatments, focus on a specific subject while your soul is filled with peace and light. This can be a photograph, a vase, a small figurine, or a souvenir brought from a trip that suggests pleasant thoughts.
Smell – from scented candles to fresh flowers
The right scent will help you quickly find the right mood. It is worth experimenting with the scents of flowers, plants, scented candles and oils or essences. You can mix several flavors, but do not overdo it – it can get too heavy a mix that ruins the whole experience. And it is better to choose natural substances – synthetics can give the opposite effect to the expected effect.
Hearing – silence and calm music
The best sound there is in a spa is silence. Not necessarily perfect, but the sounds around you should be pleasant, soothing, and familiar. Complete silence, healing, cleansing and allowing us to disconnect from everyday problems, for many of us is an unprecedented luxury that still needs to get used to.
If you prefer to listen to music, then choose a calm, quiet one. Classics, such as Mozart, are good at soothing. The noise of foliage, the lapping of waves and the cries of seagulls, the sounds of a flute soothe.
Studies have shown that a person listening to the sound of the surf has the same changes in the brain as during meditation, including a decrease in blood pressure, heart rate and respiration.
Touch – water of the right temperature
The bath can give an amazing tactile sensation. Ideal water temperature: 38,5 to 40 ° C.
Aromatic oils, flowers and herbs such as lavender, rosemary, or sage can be added to the water. Take care of rubber cushions and rugs – you should be comfortable in the bath. If you find it difficult to relax, work with your breathing. Inhale slowly, then exhale just as slowly. Repeat several times. One spa session should last no more than 15-20 minutes.
Taste – drinks suitable for a spa
Before a home spa session, consider what you will drink. A good choice is regular, clean drinking water at room temperature. If you wish in advance, you can make a wonderful melt water… You can add a slice of lemon, lime or orange to the water, add a little ginger. Slightly carbonated mineral water or chilled green tea is also suitable.
