How long to cook squid for salad?
Before preparing squid salad, carcasses must first be defrosted (if frozen) and peeled. Then cook using one of the methods:
- In salted water – the way for all salads
Bring water to a boil, as it boils – reduce the fire. Immerse prepared squids in boiling water, boil for about 3 minutes. If the meat turns white, the squids are cooked, remove with a slotted spoon. Molluscs overexposed in boiling water will become hard and “rubbery”.
- In seasoned water – for salads with bright ingredients
Boil water, add salt, lavrushka and black peppercorns. Immerse one squid carcass in the broth, hold for 10 seconds, remove with a slotted spoon. When the broth boils again, lower the next carcass – and so on with all the squid.
- 30-second boil – for dietary and healthy lifestyle salads
Bring water to a boil, immerse all squid in it at once and boil for 30 seconds. Remove the container from the heat, hold the squid in the broth for 10 minutes, and remove.
Boiled squid is cut according to the recipe and sent to the salad.
