Holiday of cleanliness: we clean the apartment for the New Year

Under the New Year, it is customary to get rid of old things. Otherwise, there will be no room for miracles and pleasant changes. And the house itself is eager for transformations to meet the holidays in all its glory. The upcoming general cleaning scares the scale, and time and strength are running out? Don’t panic! Simple, effective life hacks from Scotch-Brite® experts will help you quickly put your home in order.

The bath is as good as new

The first thing to do is to give the bath a thrashing. From soap and rusty streaks, lime scale and other contaminants, it will be saved by such a home remedy. Mix 100 ml of ammonia and 50 ml of hydrogen peroxide, pour into a bottle with a spray gun, spray over the entire surface of the bath and leave for 15-20 minutes. Then we rub the problem areas with a Scotch-Brite ® cellulose sponge. It perfectly removes even deeply ingrained plaque, leaving no scratches and streaks. By the way, it is also optimal for cleaning tiles.

The toilet bowl is whiter than snow

To ensure that the toilet is always sparkling clean and exudes freshness, you can make your own cleaning “bombs”. Combine 200 g of baking soda and 50 g of citric acid in a bowl. Gradually pour in 1 tbsp of hydrogen peroxide and ½ tsp of table vinegar. For the aroma, add 15-20 drops of any essential oil. The result should be a thick paste. We mold it into dense balls the size of cherries and leave it to dry on parchment paper for 6-8 hours. It is enough to throw a couple of such “bombs”in the toilet-cleanliness and a pleasant smell are guaranteed for a long time.

The irresistible sheen of metal

Darkened by the lime coating on the shower head? This is easily fixable. Pour 9% table vinegar into a thick plastic bag, lower the shower head inside, tighten it tightly with an elastic band and leave for half an hour. It will not be difficult to polish the rest of the chrome parts to a shine. Use Scotch-Brite ® napkins in a roll. Moisten one such napkin with water, lather it with baby soap, and wipe all the faucets in the bathroom and kitchen. Due to the high content of viscose and the strong mesh structure, the napkin absorbs moisture and dirt well, leaving no streaks.

The new life of the oven

The hob and oven, as the main kitchen workers, are the most polluted. Giving them a presentable look is easy. In a glass bowl, mix 50 g of baking soda and 2 tablespoons of coarse salt. Dilute the mixture with warm water to make a thick mass. Using a Scotch-Brite ® cellulose sponge, we evenly distribute it over the entire surface of the stove and inside the oven, leaving it for half an hour. Now it remains to erase the problem areas. The Scotch-Brite ® cellulose sponge copes with even the most persistent dirt. In addition, it is eco-friendly and will last you a very long time.

The second breath of the microwave

The microwave in the course of culinary everyday life gets no less. If its walls are covered with a yellow coating, it does not matter. Mix 4 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice and 200 ml of warm water in a heat-resistant container. Instead of juice, you can take 1 tsp of citric acid. Put a bowl of the solution inside the microwave, turn it on at full power for 5 minutes. Rub the most polluted areas with a lemon crust. You don’t have to wipe the oven dry inside — just don’t close the door. The remaining moisture will quickly evaporate, and a pleasant citrus aroma will remain.

Bathing the refrigerator

General cleaning will not take place without defrosting the refrigerator. We completely free it from products, simultaneously getting rid of everything suspicious. In a small bucket, prepare a solution of 300 g of soda and 600 ml of warm water. Apply it evenly to all internal surfaces and leave it for 30 minutes. Then we pass over them with an absorbent Scotch-Brite® Ultra cloth. It absorbs 20 times its own weight, making the surfaces perfectly clean and dry. And one more piece of advice. Periodically put a saucer of coffee grounds in the refrigerator. This will save it from foreign odors.

Purity in reflection

It is mandatory to put a gloss on all the windows and mirrors in the house. To overcome the most persistent pollution will help the good old chalk solution, which is easily prepared from 2 tbsp. l. crumbs of chalk and a liter of thermal water. To wash the mirrors, dissolve a small pinch of potassium permanganate in a liter of water. A microfibre cloth will help to improve and fix the result. Thanks to the special fleecy material on the glasses and mirrors, there are no stains, greasy spots, finger marks and even the smallest scratches. And they themselves sparkle with dazzling purity.

Unequal battle with dust

There is no more insidious enemy of cleanliness than the ubiquitous dust. Wiping it from all surfaces and furniture, do not forget about the walls and the top-for many months there it accumulates in excess. A microfibre dust removal cloth will greatly facilitate the task. It is suitable for absolutely all surfaces, whether dry or wet cleaning. This napkin effectively removes dust, and at the same time all kinds of dirt, leaving no streaks, lint and scratches. Please note that you do not need any additional cleaning products.

Undercover games

Take a good look at the carpets — there may be old stains that you have forgotten about. Traces of tea and coffee will help to remove this method. Dilute 1 tablespoon of glycerin in a liter of cold water, moisten a Scotch-Brite ® Intensive sponge in it and treat the stain. Try to wipe the traces of wine and fruit juice with tooth powder. After that, treat the area with an acetic solution at the rate of 1 tsp of vinegar per 500 ml of water. The classic Scotch-Brite® Intensive sponge will help you achieve the desired result faster. Thanks to a hard cleaning layer, it destroys the most long-standing and persistent dirt.
