Whether you are by the sea, surrounded by nature or in the city, your hair is in great need of hydration and nutrition. Parents has concocted a tailor-made program for you to have top hair!
By the sea: we protect them from the sun and water
This is naturally the place where you will have to watch over them the most if you want to escape the back-to-school hair crash! Because the beach concentrates the worst enemies for your mane. The sun burns the hair, steals its constituent water and makes it porous. It considerably tarnishes the colors. The water accentuates the harmful effects of UV rays (with repeated bathing is added the daily shampoo) and alters the hydrolipidic film present on the surface of the hair. Sea salt intensely dehydrates the fiber. Combined with sand, it irritates the scalp and causes itching. Chlorine from swimming pools depigments the hair and washes out colorings. Finally, the wind accentuates hyperseborrhea when returning from vacation. Hair by the sea soon becomes dull, dry, brittle, coarse. They hang and are difficult to style. They should be treated before, during and after sun exposure. Your “rescue” program consists of four verbs: protect, gently wash, repair and nourish.
Protection side, the hair, like the skin, needs to be protected during sun exposure All day long. UV rays cause the atrophy of their essential constituents. The greater the sun exposure, the more the structures of the fiber (the hydrolipidic film, the cuticle, the cortex) are altered. Your hair protector must contain filters that protect keratin, antioxidant and anti-photodegradation active ingredients, and various fatty substances (vegetable oils and waxes, ceramides, etc.) to form a sheath around the hair. Thus, its hydration level is preserved against attacks from water, chlorine and salt. Choose the texture according to your hair type. If they are thick, curly, dry, colored or damaged, the oil is perfect. It brings nutrition and hydration to the heart of the stem (long-lasting anti-dryness action), smoothes frizz, satin hair. But, even if the oils are now finer and lighter, you will get a very shiny wet look effect with them. You can take the opportunity to achieve different beach hairstyles (small ballerina bun, flat smoothing, braids …). If your hair is fine and without volume, prefer gels or protective veils, invisible. Apply your protective treatment before sun exposure, over the entire length of the hair, even under a swimming cap. The ideal is to reapply it after each swim, after rinsing with fresh water. During seaside holidays, hair washing is multiplied by two or three, hence the need to choose a mild shampoo, non-detergent, free of sulfates (stripping surfactants) and enriched with vegetable oils. To be chosen from specific solar hair ranges or formulas intended for colored, dry and damaged hair. Richer, they are suitable for the greatest number. If you wash your hair every night on your way home from the beach (which should be done, especially to remove sun filters), use a very small amount of shampoo and dilute it in a bowl. Rinse well. After exposure, give them a nutritious mask (the most concentrated product in care active ingredients) on towel-dried hair. Distribute it over the lengths for 5 minutes, then rinse. Another alternative: monoi, excellent for rehydrating, coating the hair and leaving it fragrant. Apply before shampooing in the form of a mask for 10 minutes, or after shampooing by touching the ends.
In the heart of nature: we reduce the frequency of shampooing
If you are going to the countryside or to the mountains, put your hair in green! On the program: organic or natural formulas (without silicone or mineral oils), respectful of the scalp, oxygenation, softness and rest. Space the shampoos as far as possible (the scalp gets dirty much less than in the city), to let their hydrolipidic film be reconstituted. The goal is to restore your hair to the characteristics of virgin hair. The ideal? Maximum two shampoos per week. Forget about any aggressive treatment: no friction or traction, no dryer or brushing. The key word: let your hair recover, recharge with good lipids if they are dry or damaged (50% of French women according to Ojon). A cream or vegetable oil bath before shampooing is the most intense treatment when you need to replenish the fiber. Apply them strand by strand, on the lengths and ends, then knead to make penetrate. Leave it on overnight, the day before shampooing, you will gain 8 hours of intense nutrition.
City vacations: let’s go to dry shampoos
If you do not go or travel to foreign capitals, make way for purifying shampoos (hair grows faster in town), volumizing, shine or anti-itching (hair is dull and flattened, itching increases with pollution), as well as with day creams. When traveling, dry shampoos are very practical on the mornings when you have to leave with a bang! Especially since today, they have made incredible progress and are really transparent. Thanks to blotting-effect powders (rice starch, Panama wood, clays, etc.), they absorb sebum and give the hair a clean, clean appearance. If you choose them tinted, even better. With their micronized pigments, they are invisible on light or dark hair, and camouflage white hair. They also work wonders on fine hair as they thicken. Spray the product on the roots, leave on for 2 minutes and brush carefully, from roots to ends. Day creams are used before styling, to help detangle (with them, no need to conditioner), discipline the hair and tame frizz, or after styling as a final touch to hydrate and protect the hair. In terms of shaping, you can choose to adopt a styling mousse that creates waves, or the “surfer” look with a spray that gently ruffles, by giving matter.
