Glycerin for facial skin: video reviews

Glycerin is an effective and affordable face skin care product. It not only moisturizes, but also treats various diseases associated with its dryness. In addition, glycerin can help cleanse oily skin and smooth out fine lines and wrinkles.

Glycerin is a neutral, colorless, thick liquid with a sweet taste that freezes to a sticky paste when cooled and has a high boiling point. Glycerin can be dissolved in water and alcohol, or many things that are not soluble in alcohol and water can be dissolved with glycerin. There is only one exception – glycerin does not mix well with oils.

Glycerin is hygroscopic, meaning it can absorb moisture from the air. If you leave 80 ml of pure glycerin in an open container for a long time, after a while you will have 100 ml of glycerin mixed with water. The ability of glycerin to “attract” moisture can soften the skin if you live in a humid climate, mix it with liquids before applying, or remember to spray your face with special water, but in dry climates the same glycerin can “draw” water out of it.

Glycerin is used for preserving fruits, preparing food gels, for lubricating printing plates, as well as various parts of devices operating at sub-zero temperatures to protect them from freezing

Moisturizing Toners & Glycerin Lotions

Make a hydrating toner with glycerin and rose water. Rose water helps reduce inflammation such as acne and blemishes, while glycerin moisturizes without making the skin oily.

Mix:

  • ¼ cups of glycerin
  • 1 XNUMX/XNUMX cups rose water

Pour toner into a spray bottle and use whenever your skin needs hydration by spraying onto a clean face.

Before using home remedies, they should also be tested by applying a few drops on the wrist and waiting 10 minutes to check the reaction.

Glycerin, mixed with lime juice, not only tones the skin, but also softens it, protecting it even from the harmful effects of the environment, cold and wind.

  • 200 ml glycerin
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice

Mix, pour into a container with a tight stopper and use on clean skin before bed.

To make a glycerin lotion for dry skin, you will need:

  • 1/3 cup glycerin
  • 1/3 cup rose water
  • 1 / 3 cup fresh lemon juice

Mix all the ingredients together and rub the lotion over your face, shaking well before each use. This lotion is especially effective for sun-dried skin, you can use it every time after spending a lot of time in the sun.

To moisturize oily skin, prepare a lotion with:

  • 1 tablespoon of pure gelatin
  • 500 mg vitamin C
  • 1 teaspoon glycerin
  • 1 teaspoon dried seaweed
  • 2 drops of bergamot essential oil

Dissolve the gelatin in ¼ cup boiling water, add ¼ cup filtered cool water and stir, let the mixture cool, pour into a blender and mix with the rest of the ingredients. Store in a plastic bottle with a tight cap away from sunlight.

Moisturizer with glycerin

You can enrich ready-made creams with glycerin, or you can make your own.

You will need:

  • ¼ glasses of beeswax
  • ¼ cup coconut oil
  • 3 tablespoons baby oil (Jonhson Baby, Nivea)
  • 1/3 cup glycerin

Rub the beeswax and mix it with coconut oil, melt in a water bath or double boiler. Coconut oil, like glycerin, helps hydrate the skin. Add the healthy glycerin and baby oil to the mixture, while continuing to heat and stir, or else it won’t combine. The process will take about 5 minutes. Pour the cream into a plastic container and let it set. Use whenever you feel dry skin.

By using glycerin, you can create a cleanser for your face that won’t dry out your skin.

Take:

  • ¼ glasses of liquid natural honey
  • ½ cup glycerin
  • ¾ spoons of neutral mild liquid soap

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and store in a sterilized container with a tight-fitting screw cap. Apply the detergent with a sponge or loofah washcloth. Natural honey has antibacterial and antioxidant properties and, like glycerin, helps to moisturize the skin.

Glycerin masks not only help keep skin hydrated and soft, they can cleanse, helping to shed dead skin, relieve irritation, and smooth wrinkles.

Prepare an egg white mask, for it you will need:

  • 1 egg white
  • 1 teaspoon of honey
  • 1 teaspoon glycerin

Whisk all the ingredients more often with a fork or whisk and apply with clean fingers onto cleansed skin. Leave the mask to dry, after it is completely dry, exfoliate it with gentle finger movements and rinse off the remainder with clean water. This mask removes dead skin particles, unclogs pores and moisturizes the skin, making it glow. In this mask, you can replace sticky honey with 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice, it will help, among other things, to brighten the skin of the face.
