Preparing your child for school over the summer can be neat and interesting. Your little sons and daughters will not even understand that caring parents do not just play with them, but repeat the multiplication table and the rules of punctuation and spelling, train attention, logic and observation. Adults have a special role here – they have to think over a strategy, set specific goals and write a clear scenario. And then everyone will be fun and informative.
Quests are different. Playing them, you can educate any character traits and at the same time practice your knowledge. Therefore, this type of summer practice is one of the most attractive for a child. The child can be sent in search of treasures on a journey around the house or the territory of the cottage, where, in order to find another clue, he must solve puzzles, solve a complex arithmetic problem, correctly name all continents or oceans, and then compose a code word from the first letters of the words.
You can think of as many stages as you like! Arrange tasks according to the degree of difficulty in ascending order. Make the game either team or individual.
Or you can enter an actor into the quest. It’s cool if he is the parent himself, playing, for example, a fairy, which gives hints, or an alchemist who gives out a gold coin for each correct answer.
Such leisure can be made an excellent weekend tradition. While having fun, the child will not even notice that he is repeating the school program.
Children like to catch adults in their confusion and forgetfulness. Swap roles and ask your child to prepare you for a specific subject. Write a legend that you will have an exam at work. But you have not the slightest desire to look for information and even more so to memorize it.
By confessing frankly, you will receive an ally into your ranks who will happily prepare you for a difficult test.
Give him the tools: pens, books, sheets and an assignment. For example, you have a new project related to historical reconstruction, but you have long forgotten the events of the XNUMXth century in Russia.
I’m sure a lot of tricky questions await you this time. You can prepare the game with dates yourself. Take the important events of the selected period, write the day, month, year when they occurred on small rectangular sheets of paper. Place the cards together and place the blank side up. Now, raising the card, tell us what happened on that day and year. You need to get confused, confused and fall into a stupor. Then sympathetic children will help you.
Thus, you can play with any era and country. And generally in any subject, even chemistry.
Yes, it is difficult to pick up a pen and paper when a river, a bicycle, a ball and shuttlecocks are beckoning outside the window. But one evening you got a letter in the mail. The paper is old, rare, the words are barely visible, so it becomes clear that they wrote with milk. To read the text, you need to arm yourself with a candle.
And now, when the letters come through, you see that this is a code. Only half of the text is lost, and you have to guess what the letter is about.
You should not leave the child alone in this task, since he, faced with difficulties, may postpone the solution for an indefinite period. Therefore, sit down next to you and think together what kind of message came to you in the mail with a stamp of a century ago.
Noisy board games in the family circle have not been canceled. Anything is suitable here: both “Crocodile” – for the development of figurative, associative thinking, imagination, contributing to the fight against complexes, and “Make up a word” – for attentiveness, memory, reaction speed, literacy, expansion of vocabulary and horizons, and “Geometry” – to get acquainted with geometric shapes, signs, mathematical terminology and many others.
The main thing in preparing a child for school is his desire to gain new knowledge, discover secrets and seek secrets, and not sit out hot days with lined notebooks.
If your children are artistic, then they can be offered to make a home play on the book they like from the summer literature list.
Throw a feast all over the street: invite friends, make decorations and sew costumes, assign roles, learn the text and try yourself in the role of real theater actors. Most likely, you, parents, will have to take part in this fun.
But such an extraordinary holiday will certainly please everyone!
