Neglecting the rules of staying outside in hot weather is fraught with many consequences – from sunstroke or heatstroke to premature aging and skin cancer. To keep your body as safe as possible in the summer heat, just follow these tips:

  1. Dress properly. Light-colored clothing reflects sunlight and heats up more slowly. Black clothes, on the contrary, absorb. The body will be most comfortable in loose-fitting clothes made from natural, breathable fabrics. And don’t forget about your hat!
  2. Avoid dehydration. Drink as many liquids as possible – water, mineral water, lemonades and fruit drinks are suitable. But soda, alcohol and energy drinks due to the presence of sugar will only increase thirst and dehydration. Also try to cool your body – take a cool shower, wash your face, or wipe your face with wet wipes throughout the day.
  3. Limit your time outside. At home and in the office, regularly ventilate the premises or use air conditioning. It is also better to limit any travel by transport – the heat is felt most acutely in tight spaces.
  4. Swim only in designated areas. Forget about unequipped deserted beaches, abandoned quarries and rivers with strong currents! Under no circumstances should you go into the water while intoxicated.
  5. Eat right. In the summer, the body does not require as much energy as in the cold season. We recommend limiting your consumption of high-calorie foods or avoiding them altogether. Avoid fried, smoked, sweet and salty foods. In hot weather, it is best to eat nuts, fresh fruits, vegetables and seafood.

If you feel unwell in hot weather or suffer from heatstroke or sunstroke, seek medical attention immediately. You can also consult a therapist. You can make an appointment at the Medical Center clinic by phone or via online chat.
