Folk recipes for colds

Even with a full arsenal of anti-cold remedies in modern pharmacies, it will never be superfluous to have several folk recipes in stock.

In the offseason, the danger of catching a cold lies in wait for us literally at every step. As a preventive measure, residents of large cities are advised to stay outdoors more, not to overcool, take precautions when dealing with those who are already sick, and also strengthen the immune system by hardening.

A special risk group can be attributed to kindergarten pupils and students of general education institutions, since it is they who are forced to be indoors for more than half the day, and even with a large crowd of people. It is very difficult to protect yourself from colds with such introductory statements, so if the trouble still occurs and you or the child get sick, you will have to be treated. True, it is not at all necessary to immediately run to the pharmacy; you can also use proven folk remedies.

First of all, the patient needs to provide an abundant drink: warm fruit drinks, compotes, herbal infusions and teas will help prevent dehydration, and those that contain vitamin C will help the immune system.

The largest amount of vitamin C, by the way, can be found in sauerkraut and citrus fruits: lemons, tangerines, oranges. So, in the absence of allergies, buy fruits and remember that bright colors cheer you up, which means that they also help you to recover sooner!

Be sure to set the correct ventilation mode in the apartment. Humid and cool air is the least attractive environment for bacteria and viruses, unlike hot and dry air, and it also prevents the mucous membranes of the nose and throat from drying out.

If the patient is worried about a dry cough, give him a decoction of honey, raspberries, lingonberries or blueberries, but only if there is no temperature. If heat is available, the best drink would be just warm water with a few drops of lemon juice.

A water-salt solution will help get rid of a runny nose. Making it yourself is also not difficult. Dissolve a teaspoon of salt in a liter of water and regularly rinse your snotty nose with the resulting mixture.

The most favorite antiviral agent of all times and peoples is cranberry or lingonberry juice. You can take it without restrictions, both at the first symptoms of the disease, and in its midst, already at an elevated body temperature.

Cranberry juice recipe so simple that even a child can handle it.

Ingredients: a glass of cranberries, one and a half liters of water, sugar to taste.

Preparation: rinse the berries, put them in boiling water, mash with a spoon, and then cook for 5-7 minutes. Catch the berries and rub them through a strainer, pour the resulting juice into a saucepan. Bring the resulting fruit drink to a boil, sweeten with sugar or honey to taste, cover and leave to cool.

And, finally, a unique recipe from a real Siberian folk healer for adults who often suffer from angina:

Grate 1 red beet root vegetable on a fine grater. Add 1 tablespoon of 9% vinegar to a glass of the resulting mass, cover the mixture with a lid and keep in a dark place for 4 hours. Then squeeze the contents of the glass through a dense cloth, discard the cake, and gargle with the mixture every 2,5 hours, and the sore throat is gone!

Be healthy!
