Formula for calculating length (perimeter)
There are no formulas that give a 100% accurate result. The option below (through the semiaxes) allows you to calculate the approximate value of the length (L) figures, the maximum error is about 0,63%.
Note: number value π usually rounded up to 3,14 in calculations.
Example of a problem
Given an ellipse with lengths of the semiaxes 5 and 8 cm. Find its perimeter.
