Feta is a creamy white Greek cheese traditionally made from sheep’s or goat’s milk and stored in brine or olive oil. It has a distinct salty curd flavor and aroma, holds its shape well and is often used in salads.

Feta cheese and tomato salad with pepper

You will need: – 2 bell peppers (yellow and red); – 100 g feta cheese; – 200 g red cherry tomatoes; – 1 clove of garlic; – 4 tablespoons olive oil; – 2 tbsp. balsamic vinegar; – 10 peas of black pepper; – 2 tbsp. dry provencal herbs; – 1,5 tsp turmeric; – 1 tsp ground red sweet pepper; – thyme herb for decoration; – salt.

Bake bell peppers in the oven or grill without cutting. Then place in a bag, and after a couple of minutes, remove the skin, make an incision from the bottom and take out the middle along with the seeds. Then slice the peppers lengthwise into narrow strips. Combine the turmeric and ground sweet dry peppers, pour the mixture of Provencal herbs into another plate. Cut the feta cheese into cubes, roll half in turmeric and pepper, the other in Provencal herbs.

In a mortar, grind a little thyme greens, ground black pepper, salt, add olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Divide everything into 2 parts, put crushed garlic in one and roll over the strips of baked peppers. Cut the tomatoes in half and roll in the garlic-free mixture.

Put peppers, then tomatoes, then feta cheese in a deep plate and garnish with thyme sprigs.

Be careful with the amount of salt, as feta cheese itself is very salty

Greek Feta Salad Recipe

You will need: – 2 small tomatoes; – 2 medium cucumbers; – 1 medium onion head; – 150 g black olives (pitted), – 200 g feta cheese; – medium sized bell pepper; – a small bunch of lettuce; – parsley; – salt.

Cut the tomatoes into thin slices, and cut the cucumbers and feta into cubes. Chop the onions in half rings, cut the lettuce and bell peppers into strips. Place vegetables and olives in a salad bowl, stir and pour over with olive oil mixed with salt. Place the cheese on top. However, be careful, it can easily crumble. Garnish with parsley.

Feta cheese salad with chicken breast

You will need: – 150 g of feta cheese; – 200 g chicken breast; – a bunch of lettuce leaves; – 2 bell peppers; – 3 tbsp. olive oil; – half a teaspoon of lemon juice; – salt, pepper to taste.

Boil the chicken breast, cool and cut into cubes. Free the bell peppers from the seeds, cut into strips and lightly fry in vegetable oil. Put coarsely chopped lettuce leaves, cooled peppers, pieces of chicken breast, cubes of feta cheese in a salad bowl. Sprinkle everything with lemon juice, add salt to taste. Drizzle with olive oil and stir.
