Eyebrow Oil: 7 Olive Oil Masks That Will Really Make Your Brows Beautiful

To begin with, let’s decide that the most effective nourishing eyebrow masks are made on an oil basis. In order to strengthen hair follicles and achieve rapid growth of eyebrows, burdock, castor, almond oil, avocado oil and, finally, olive oil are best suited. The latter is the most convenient basic option: it costs less than almond or avocado oil, practically does not smell, unlike castor or burdock, and perfectly comes into contact with other ingredients, so that the mask does not exfoliate on your eyebrows into elementary components, as it can will happen to sea buckthorn oil. And you don’t need to run to the pharmacy to get olive oil – there is always a bottle of it in the kitchen.

Of course, exceptionally very high-quality natural oil is suitable here, there will be no sense from refined oil. Only oil of the so-called first pressing (that is, obtained from olive fruits by simple pressing, without heating) is saturated with oleic acid and vitamin E, it rejuvenates the skin, nourishes hair follicles, makes eyebrows even visually smoother and healthier.

Herbs and vegetables from the kitchen are a great base for natural eyebrow masks

The result will be noticeable even if you use only pure oil, without any additives: heat it slightly, soak two cotton pads, apply on eyebrows and leave for 10 minutes. Then comb the eyebrows with a special soft brush – first against the direction of hair growth, then in the opposite direction, thereby increasing the blood flow, and again apply discs with oil for 10 minutes. You have enough patience to repeat the procedure twice a week for at least three months – and the effect will be visible to the naked eye.

But if you add other nutrients to olive oil, then things go faster. In addition, the range of effects of such complex masks is much wider: there are masks for the growth of eyebrows, there are – against their loss, or simply nutritious, which are so needed in the summer heat or cold season, when our body does not have enough vitamins. Simple “home” masks are capable of feats: restore the shape of the eyebrows after an unsuccessful correction, “wake up” dormant hair follicles, achieve smoothness, correct too unnatural dye color, or, on the contrary, enhance the pigment.

Instructions for use

When using any eyebrow mask, first of all think about safety. Still, there are eyes nearby, with which you need to be extremely careful. Here are some simple rules to help you get out of trouble.

1. Before applying the mask for the first time, check if it will cause you an allergy – apply a few drops on your wrist and wait 10 minutes. If you do not feel any discomfort during this time, you can smear it on your eyebrows.

2. Do not heat masks based on oil above 45 C, otherwise they may cause irritation or even burns, and the essential oils contained in them will evaporate without any benefit.

3. Do not use metal bowls to mix ingredients – they will oxidize. The same applies to iron brushes and tweezers, which, moreover, can rust from contact with water.

Test the mask on the wrist first

4. Protect your eyes by placing cotton pads on them, and lubricate the area around the eyebrows with cream so that the mask does not spread. This is especially important if the mask uses sharp and pungent ingredients – mustard, onion gruel, alcohol, pepper, which are usually used for hair growth.

5. For applying liquid masks, it is convenient to use a cotton pad by simply soaking it and placing it on the eyes. If the mask is thick, mushy, use a brush.

6. If you cover your eyebrows with a mask with strips of polyethylene – due to the greenhouse effect, the effect of the mask will increase and the nutrients will be absorbed faster.

7. Remove the remnants of the mask with a cotton pad moistened with mineral water. If the mask is dry and does not come off well – before that, you can use oil for removing makeup or all the same olive oil. Then it will be possible to fully wash, but it is better without soap or cleansing gels.

8. To achieve the effect of the mask, you need to apply at least once a week, the full course – 15-10 masks, then the eyebrows should be allowed to rest for at least a month.

7 masks for different purposes

1. Make eyebrows obedient and well-groomed

Thanks to the coconut-chamomile mask, your eyebrows will look smoothed and lie hair to hair – just like you combed and styled them in the morning. Coconut oil contains healthy proteins, vitamins E and K, and lauric acid. It is easily absorbed, filling all the voids in the hairs, leaving them hydrated and strong. Orange essential oil stimulates growth. Chamomile infusion relieves irritation and removes flaking, and this is especially important if you have just shaped your eyebrows.

Brew a bag of chamomile in 100 ml of water, let it brew. Then mix in a heat-resistant container 1 tsp. olive oil, 1 tsp. coconut oil, 1 tsp. essential oil of orange and 1 tsp. infusion of chamomile. Warm up to a comfortable temperature (no higher than 45C). Apply to brows with a brush and leave for 15 minutes. Then remove the mask with a sponge with mineral water.

2. Restores eyebrows after unsuccessful correction

You wanted to get thick and fluffy eyebrows like Clara Delevingne’s, but as a result you got “thin and raised in surprise” eyebrows that no one wears now? This is not a reason to despair and wear a burqa. Such a mask based on regular parsley will restore damaged hair follicles and stimulate their natural growth.

Chop 5 parsley sprigs at random, add 1 tbsp. aloe juice and 1 tsp. olive oil. Grind all ingredients in a blender. Apply the gruel with a brush on the eyebrows for 15 minutes, and then remove with a sponge with mineral water.

4. Will give smoothness and shine

Eyebrow hair consists of keratinous proteins and not only vegetable oils, but also ordinary chicken eggs are perfect to “nourish” them. Within a month of such egg procedures, the eyebrows will become noticeably smoother, thicker and silky.

Separate the egg yolk from the protein, pour the yolk into a bowl, add 1 tsp. olive oil, ½ tsp. lemon juice. Mix everything with a blender or whisk with a fork. Apply to eyebrows with a cotton swab. Leave it on for 15 minutes, then rinse with a sponge with mineral water.

4. Evens out the color and adds naturalness to it

A honey mask with onions and calendula will help if you did not match the tone when dyeing and as a result the eyebrows look like they were painted with charcoal, completely out of harmony with the complexion of the face and hair. Honey will not lighten the eyebrows, but it will remove the excessive radicalism of the black color, so instead of Marfushenka-darling, you will again become a living person. Onions will smooth out color transitions and remove unnecessary yellow-red reflections that paint sometimes leaves when washed off. And calendula oil will give your brows a natural brown tint.

Grind half the onion in a blender, squeeze the juice out of it through a double layer of cheesecloth. Add ½ tsp. honey, 2-3 drops of calendula oil and ½ tsp. olive oil. Mix with a blender and apply to eyebrows with a cotton pad. Leave it on for 15 minutes, then rinse off with a sponge soaked in mineral water.

5. Make eyebrows darker and thicker

Recently, beauty stores began to actively offer usma seed oil, if you believe the advertisement, then this oil is the secret of the beauty of the eyebrows of oriental beauties. What kind of usma is this? It turns out that nothing more than the well-known rucola, only in a form cultivated in the Arab East. So proceed according to the principle: leaves in a salad, oil from seeds in a cosmetic bag. Arugula oil slightly tones the eyebrows into a darker color, stimulates growth and adds gloss.

Dissolve 10 g of live yeast with 1 tbsp. warm water until smooth. Mix 1 tbsp. olive oil and 10 drops of rucola oil (usma), combine with yeast and rub with a spoon until smooth. Apply to eyebrows with a brush, leave for 15-20 minutes. Then wash off with a sponge soaked in mineral water. Repeat the mask once a week.

6. Strengthens hair growth

The burning substance of red hot pepper – capsaicin – has an irritating effect, accelerates metabolic processes and awakens “dormant” hair follicles to action and accelerates hair growth. At the same time, olive oil soothes irritation by softening the action of capsaicin, while honey regenerates damaged hair and skin cells. But be careful! Pepper mask is one of the most aggressive, so an allergy test must be done before applying it.

1/2 tsp pepper tincture mix with fresh lime honey (1 tsp) and 1 tbsp. olive oil. Stir everything well with a fork, apply with a brush on the eyebrows for 10 minutes, then carefully remove the mask with a sponge soaked in mineral water. Lubricate your eyebrows with a soothing cream.

7. Will create the effect of “lamination”

There is never a lot of oil – this rule works 100% for eyebrows. A mixture of vaseline oil, olive and beeswax (just do not confuse with wax for dipilation!) Will create a lamination effect. After such an intensive replenishment, the eyebrows will not only grow well, but also shine remarkably. It is especially recommended for those who, due to the thinness of their hair, have excessive puffiness and grow in different directions.

Mix 1 tsp each. petroleum jelly, olive oil and beeswax. Add a couple of drops of calendula tincture. Apply the mask to the eyebrows with a brush and leave for 30 minutes. Then remove with a sponge filled with mineral water.
