Erazaban – indications, dosage, contraindications, side effects

Erazaban is used to treat the early symptoms of cold sores. It is a cold sores remedy that starts working much earlier than other preparations. Docosanol contained in the drug strengthens the protective barrier of a healthy skin cell and prevents the herpes virus from penetrating inside it. The product is intended for children and adults over 12 years of age. The drug is a topical cream and is available without prescription.

Indication for taking Erazaban: treating the early symptoms of herpes labialis in immunocompromised individuals

Dosage

Treatment with Erazaban should be started as soon as possible after the first symptoms appear (pain, burning, itching, tingling, redness) and continued until the lesions heal, usually for 4-6 days, for a maximum of 10 days.

  1. Adults and children after 12 years of age Lubricate the lesions 5 times a day every 3 hours (with a night break).

Erazaban and contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation is a contraindication to the use of Erazaban.

Erazaban – warnings

  1. Avoid using Erazaban in the eye area or in the eyes.
  2. Erazaban can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but it is recommended to consult a doctor before using the drug.

Erazaban – side effects

During the use of Erazaban, the following may appear most often: headache, dry skin and rash at the application site; side effects occur at a similar frequency as in those taking placebo.
