The complex treatment of enteritis includes correction of the diet at all stages of the disease. Periods of exacerbation, improvement, rehabilitation are reduced several times if you adhere to strict standards of a therapeutic diet.
It is important to take into account the fact that diet becomes the only way to stabilize the patient’s condition in the first 48 hours after the onset of severe symptoms.
On the first day of exacerbation of intestinal enteritis, the patient is shown therapeutic fasting. You can drink only water in large quantities and weak, slightly sweet tea. Official gastroenterology adheres to this therapeutic method, taking into account fasting, because a positive effect occurs in 95% of cases.
Features of the diet for enteritis
In the diet of a patient with enteritis, it is necessary to include lean meats and poultry, cooked without fascia, tendons and skin. Meat dishes must be boiled, baked or fried, products are allowed to be lubricated with an egg, but breading is not allowed.
You can cook beef patties, as well as rabbit, chicken, turkey, young lamb and lean pork cutlets. A whole piece can be boiled or stewed veal, rabbit, chicken, turkey, in rare cases, beef.
It is also allowed to use boiled tongue, milk sausages, pancakes stuffed with boiled meat. In the diet, you can include dishes from low-fat varieties of fish, and you can cook both a whole piece and chopped fillets. Fish should also be boiled, baked or fried without breading.
Soups for people suffering from enteritis are prepared on a weak fat-free meat or fish broth, as well as on a vegetable or mushroom broth. Vegetables should be well cooked, finely chopped or mashed. Grains are also better to wipe. If the patient tolerates borscht and cabbage soup well, then you can cook them, and all the ingredients must be finely chopped.
From dairy products, patients can drink kefir, yogurt, sour-milk products, fresh cottage cheese is allowed, as well as curd dishes. Cheese can be eaten grated and cut into thin slices, sour cream is allowed no more than 15 g per serving of the finished product, milk and cream can only be consumed with drinks or ready meals. Eggs are boiled soft-boiled, steamed, fried or made into an omelette.
Porridge with enteritis can be boiled with a small amount of milk or only on water, meat broth. Cereals must be boiled well, excluding millet and barley from the diet. You can also cook steam or baked pudding, boil vermicelli, make noodles with cottage cheese or boiled meat.
From vegetables, potatoes, zucchini, pumpkin, carrots, beets, cauliflower and white cabbage, green peas are allowed. The last two types of vegetables are allowed only if they are well tolerated by the patient. Vegetables can be boiled, stewed, used in the form of mashed potatoes, puddings and casseroles. Greens added to dishes should be finely chopped.
It is better to wipe ripe fruits and berries, cook compote, jelly from them, make jelly or mousse. It is useful to eat baked apples, and add oranges and lemons to tea or make jelly out of them. With good tolerance, it is allowed to eat up to 200 g per day of tangerines, oranges, watermelon or grapes without skin.
From sweets, creamy caramel, toffee, marmalade, marshmallow, marshmallow, sugar, honey, jam are allowed. It is better to limit the consumption of flour products, wheat bread, dried pastries, cookies are allowed. Twice a week you can eat well-baked, not hot and not rich buns, curd cheesecakes, pies with boiled meat, fish, eggs, rice, apples or apple jam.
Patients are advised to drink tea with lemon, as well as coffee and cocoa, prepared with water or with the addition of milk. In addition, decoctions of wild rose, vegetables, fruits, berries, bran with a small addition of water are useful.
Allowed and prohibited products by groups (table number 4)
The purpose of dietary table number 4 is to reduce or completely remove inflammation, prevent the development of putrefactive, fermentative processes, and normalize the secretion of the digestive tract. Hot, cold, spicy, spicy, fried, fatty, sweet and salty foods are excluded from the diet. The table is strict and heavy enough to use. But only in this way it is possible to stop the painful symptoms and prevent the recurrence of intestinal enteritis.
The terms of the diet are regulated by the attending physician, and they should not go beyond the therapeutic framework. Strict table number 4 shows the first 4-7 days of exacerbation of the disease. Then the diet is supplemented and expanded.

Light diet for enteritis (table number 4b)
4-7 days after the start of dietary treatment, the patient is transferred to a more varied diet No. 4b. The diet still contributes to the removal of inflammatory processes, the stabilization of intestinal function and the elimination of residual symptoms of the disease.
It is recommended to use dishes from the list of permitted, boiled in water, weak broth or steamed. Meat and fish are minced or ground into a paste. The mode of eating is fractional – up to 6 times a day, at equal intervals.

Diet during the recovery period (table No. 4c)
Recovery of the body after bowel disease will be faster if the transition to a normal diet is carried out gradually. For these purposes, a treatment table No. 4c is shown. There are no strict restrictions here, as on diet number 4. Food can be consumed unground, moderately hot. Dishes are steamed, boiled or baked in the oven, which opens up more opportunities for organizing a varied diet.

For breakfast, a patient with enteritis can eat a soft-boiled egg, cheese, oatmeal boiled in milk, and drink a cup of tea. At lunch, it is allowed to eat meat broth with vermicelli, meat cutlets fried without breadcrumbs, with carrot puree and drink jelly. For an afternoon snack, a decoction of rosehip berries is recommended, and for dinner you can cook jellied fish, rice pudding with fruit sauce, and drink tea. Before going to bed, kefir is useful.
