Dicloberl is a prescription medicine that belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It is available in two forms: as Dicloberl retard – extended release capsules and Dicloberl 50 – rectal suppositories.
Dicloberl (Berlin-Chemie)
1. FORM, DOSE, PACKAGE:
– Dicloberl retard; sustained release capsules; 100 mg; 20 caps
– Dicloberl 50; suppositories; 50 mg; 10 suppositories
2. AVAILABILITY CATEGORY: Rp. (prescription drug).
3. ACTIVE SUBSTANCE: diclofenac.
Dicloberl – action
Dicloberl retard and Dicloberl 50 are drugs whose action is related to the presence of the active substance. Diclofenac has an analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect.
Dicloberl – destiny and application
Dicloberl is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that is used in cases such as:
- acute arthritis,
- chronic arthritis, including rheumatoid arthritis,
- ankylosing spondylitis (AS) and other inflammatory rheumatic diseases of the spine,
- inflammatory rheumatic diseases of soft tissues,
- post-traumatic inflammation,
- painful swelling.
Dosage
Dicloberl is a prescription medicine, so be sure to follow your doctor’s instructions.
Sample dosing of Dicloberl 50
Adults: 1 suppository should be administered 1-3 times a day. The daily dose should not exceed 150 mg of diclofenac sodium.

Adults: 1 prolonged-release capsule taken once daily. The daily dose should not exceed 1 mg of diclofenac sodium.
Dicloberl – contraindications to use
Dicloberl is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that cannot be used in conditions such as:
- hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients,
- hematopoietic disorders of unknown cause,
- gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation related to previous NSAIDs intake
- III trimester of pregnancy,
- severe renal or hepatic insufficiency,
- diagnosed congestive heart failure, ischemic heart disease,
- active or recurrent stomach or duodenal disease,
- bronchospasm, asthma, runny nose or urticaria after administration of acetylsalicylic acid.
In addition, the drug can not be given to children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
Dicloberl – warnings
Warnings for taking Dicloberl 50 and Dicloberl retard:
- Avoid taking Dicloberl with other NSAIDs,
- it is recommended to take the drug in the lowest possible doses,
- the drug may affect the gastrointestinal tract, including cause bleeding, gastric ulcer,
- it is recommended to monitor the health of patients with arterial hypertension or congestive heart failure,
- caution should be exercised in patients struggling with impaired liver function,
- Dicloberl should be used only under the supervision of a doctor,
- tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding,
- taking Dicloberl may negatively affect fertility,
- it is not recommended to use the drug with alcohol.
Dicloberl – drug interactions
Dicloberl 50 and Dicloberl retard are medicines that may interact with other medications. Therefore, before starting the treatment, inform your doctor about the preparations you are taking – including those without a prescription.
Dicloberl 50 interactions with other drugs:
- other NSAIDs – including drugs containing acetylsalicylic acid,
- digoxin, lit, phenytoin,
- diuretics,
- antihypertensive drugs,
- glucocorticosteroids,
- antiplatelet drugs,
- methotrexate,
- cyclosporine,
- anticoagulants,
- probenecyd i sulfinpyrazon,
- drugs from the sulfonylurea group.
Dicloberl retard interactions with other drugs:
- digoxin, lit, phenytoin,
- diuretics,
- beta blockers
- drugs to lower blood pressure,
- ACE inhibitors and angiotensin II antagonists,
- other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs,
- methotrexate,
- cyclosporine,
- anticoagulants,
- antiplatelet drugs,
- probenecyd i sulfinpyrazon,
- diabetes medications,
- worykonazol, sulfinpyrazon.
Dicloberl – side effects
Dicloberl 50 and Dicloberl retard, like other medicines, can cause certain side effects.
Side effects Dicloberl retard: nausea, bloody vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, flatulence, indigestion, hypersensitivity reactions, hives, tarry stools.
Side effects of Dicloberl 50: palpitations, edema, myocardial infarction, haematopoietic disorders, haemolytic anemia, headache, visual disturbances.

Other medicines containing diclofenac include Olfen 75 SR, Diclac Duo, Majamil, Naklofen.
