Concrete walls and a blue bathtub: 8 fashion trends in the interior
We are used to what should be like this: tiles in the bathroom, unobtrusive wallpaper, preferably light, and, of course, no bare cement walls.
Why is it so – tradition, routine, stereotypes – but all apartments look similar. If not on each other, then on the catalogs of furniture giants. But designers no, no, and they will announce such fashion trends that at first cause a reaction like “What a heresy!”, And then take over the world.

The popularity of loft, high-tech and minimalism styles is gaining momentum. And along with them – cool and bold ideas of designers. We are accustomed to the fact that concrete floors must be reliably hidden under the finishing layers. And designers say that a concrete wall is stylish and fashionable, especially in an urban interior. On its light gray background, furniture and decor of any shade look elegant, bright and expressive at the same time. An important point: to make the room cozy, you need to create a contrast – perfectly flat floor and ceiling. In addition, the texture will be emphasized by well-chosen lighting, then the space will begin to play.
The cement floor also creates a laconic atmosphere. It can be glossy or with a rough surface, it all depends on your preference. Deep gray color will make the interior truly luxurious and noble.
2. Laundry in an apartment is not a luxury
If the area of the apartment allows you to allocate a separate room for a laundry, then do it without hesitation for a minute. You will feel the advantages of its presence immediately:
– Space saving as there is no need to hang ropes or install dryers. Place the washer and dryer next to or on top of each other.
– Aesthetics – suddenly arriving guests will not see hanging underwear in the bathroom, kitchen or balcony.
– A tumble dryer is necessary in a humid climate, and after using it you can hardly iron your laundry!
– A basket with dirty linen, basins, washing powder and detergents – everything will be in one place, close at hand and away from children. An ironing board can also be installed there. Good ventilation is key
3. Wallpaper and painting in the bathroom instead of tiles

Yes, we are used to the fact that the bathroom is always tiled. But wallpaper and painting are much more economical than using tiles. Special paint for wet rooms is less susceptible to moisture, since it has high water-repellent properties. Expensive silicone paint will not crack. It is easier to care for than tiles. You can combine several colors to create a unique bathroom style. But it is important to remember that the walls for painting in the bathroom must be leveled with plaster, putty and sanded. And the paint will be better applied by a professional, without leaving streaks and irregularities.
With good ventilation in the bathroom, washable non-woven or vinyl wallpaper will hold well. In the area of water ingress, it is better to use fiberglass wallpaper, which is coated with a special compound. At the same time, it is easy to care for them, wash with chemical agents. But in terms of the complexity of the work, it is easier to paste the wallpaper. Another plus is that no wall preparation is required.

Nobody wants to live like in a hospital, because light interiors often look impersonal. But black always looks stylish, aristocratic and expensive. Many people believe that dark tones reduce the space, although they, on the contrary, create depth, the room seems “bottomless”. The main thing is to correctly prioritize, find a balance, and black walls will organically fit into the interior of even a small room. Moreover, even the ceiling can be painted dark, and it will not crush.
Like gray, black works well with all colors and is a versatile shade. All metals – gold, chrome, brass – look great against its background. Black will hide all the imperfections of an uneven or irregular wall.

The bar counter is no longer in vogue. But the island is in fashion – it is stylish and beautiful, practical and effective. You can cook on it by installing a stove, and on top – a large island hood, or place a sink. You can use the island as a work surface, behind which the whole family will gather and, for example, stick dumplings. Bar or semi-bar stools go well with the island. In addition, this is another additional place for storing household appliances, dishes or food.
But keep in mind that you can make an island on an area of at least 20 squares. Not every apartment can boast of such a kitchen.

White bathtub, sink and toilet are classics familiar to everyone. Courageous people challenge them and make the interior of the bathroom colorful, because today this room is not only for hygiene procedures, but also for pleasure. Plumbing in graphite, green, blue, and maybe peach or pastel shades will look interesting and add bright colors against the background of monotonous tiles.
If you are afraid that the color might get bored, opt for two-tone plumbing, for example, white on the inside and red on the outside. This decision will only inspire.
Bathroom faucets can also add accents. In addition to the standard chrome-plated ones, you can install black, brass, and, if desired, any rainbow color.

Previously, only bathrooms were always installed in apartments. Now people are increasingly abandoning them in favor of showers. There are several reasons for this.
Firstly, for the majority, such a choice is forced and is due to the size of the bathrooms. But, in order to embody all the wishes, it is enough to equip the shower room. Thanks to this solution, space will be freed up for storage and equipment.
Secondly, the modern rhythm of life does not allow you to relax, there is no time to bask in the bathtub, so a multifunctional shower is enough. Instead of a pallet or cabin, you can lay out the space with tiles. It looks very impressive, there are no gaps, and the shower can be made to the desired size.
Thirdly, the shower room means saving both water and payments for it.
A huge block of air conditioning tends to ruin the interior. The situation can be corrected by hiding it under the ceiling in the technical room, and neat grilles can be brought out into the rooms, decorating them in any style.
Ducted air conditioning is not cheap, but worth it. The difficulty lies in the fact that it must be planned in advance, and not by ourselves, but with the help of a specialist.
