Cinema and Gastronomy meet in Madrid

The gastronomic and cultural event of Gastroletras arrives in a few days in the capital of the Kingdom.

The Barrio de las Letras in Madrid once again houses the interesting cultural proposal of this multidisciplinary event.

This is the third edition of the festival, which, as in previous editions of Gastroletras, unites recreational leisure activities with those of gastronomy.

During the 8th to the 18th of March, the city of Madrid will fill its central streets with film stories, being accompanied in this culinary script by the local hospitality industry in the city’s enlightened neighborhood.

Beyond the focus of previous years, where Don Miguel de Cervantes appeared as the center of the event’s program, now it is the fusion of the seventh art with gastronomy that reaches us.

The event is organized by the Madrid Hospitality Association, known as La viña, and has the collaboration of the Government Area of ​​Equity, Social Rights and Employment of the Madrid City Council, together with the commercial sponsors of the event, the Mahou San Miguel beer company and the Association of Merchants of the Barrio de las Letras.

What we can see, eat and drink at the Gastroletras Event

About thirty hospitality establishments from the city center are already attached to the event, and in its achievement, they will offer visitors to the gastronomic days, different culinary offers based on menus and tapas, accompanied by some of the drinks that one of the event’s sponsors sells the multinational, once from Madrid, the Mahou-San Miguel brewery.

Apart from the purely culinary, leisure and distraction of the different activities of the event, they will offer us a very cool vision with a vintage air, of the staging of events such as book signings, film screenings, workshops of kitchen, etc.

During the days of the multicultural sample, the filming of the short films that attend the Gastroletras Short Contest, that in this its first edition, it seeks to tell a story in which a product of the brewery appears, together with the recognizable façade or the interior of one of the bars or restaurants participating in the event, all in just 8 minutes.

A jury made up of actors and film directors will decide the winners of the € 2.000 and € 1.000 awards for the Best Short Gastroletras, with professional production, and the second “Mahou-San Miguel Award” for those recorded also with mobile technology …
