General description of the disease
Brucellosis is a zoonotic infectious disease that affects the musculoskeletal, nervous and reproductive systems.
The main source is cattle (cows, goats, sheep) and pigs infected with Brucella. More rare cases of the disease are observed in reindeer, horses, yaks, camels.
It is transmitted from a sick animal to a person through damaged skin (trauma, scratches and even microtrauma), mucous membrane (in contact with animals) or through contaminated food.
Symptoms that give out brucellosis in humans:
- at the very beginning, the symptoms of the disease are similar to the flu;
- a person’s whole body aches;
- there is a feeling of constant weakness and fatigue;
- sleep becomes anxious, which makes the patient more irritable;
- poor appetite;
- the main sign of an exacerbation of brucellosis is a sharp rise in body temperature to 40 (and constantly keeps at about the same level), pain in muscle tissues intensifies, fever and problems with movement begins, lymph nodes from time to time increase, the liver becomes larger and spleen.
Depending on the duration of the course of the disease, the following forms of brucellosis are distinguished:
- 1 acute – clinical manifestations of the disease are observed throughout the quarter (that is, 3 months);
- 2 subacute – chills, sweating, disorders of the nervous, musculoskeletal, digestive systems last from 3 to 6 months;
- 3 brucellosis develops into a chronic form after half a year of the course;
- 4 residual, otherwise – the form of clinical consequences (complications) and residual phenomena of brucellosis.
Also, brucellosis is classified according to the course of the disease:
- easy;
- average;
- severe degree.
Prevention of the incidence of brucellosis
In order to prevent morbidity in humans, first of all, it is worth taking care of hygienic measures and vaccination of farm animals. To do this, you need to adhere to sanitary standards for the care, walking and slaughter of animals, and carry out the necessary veterinary examinations.
To protect yourself, you need to boil raw milk or buy pasteurized milk; when preparing meat, you must adhere to the cooking technology.
Healthy foods for brucellosis
In order to maintain the normal functioning of the body with brucellosis, it is worth paying attention to natural products that help improve the functioning of the liver, stomach, nervous, vascular and musculoskeletal systems (after all, they are the ones who most suffer from this disease). Therefore, you need to eat:
- products of animal origin: dairy (including cheeses with cottage cheese), meat, fish dishes made from low-fat varieties, liver, eggs (both chicken and quail can be used), seafood;
- vegetable origin: berries and fruits (kiwi, citrus fruits, bananas, currants, apricots, apples, raspberries, strawberries, avocados, rose hips, peaches), vegetables and herbs (potatoes, broccoli, bell peppers, carrots, pumpkin, beets, cucumbers, horseradish , parsley, wheat germ), nuts and seeds (dates, almonds, walnuts, peanuts, sesame seeds, flax seeds), various oils (olive, pumpkin, linseed, sesame, sunflower), dried fruits, cereals and cereals (buckwheat, rice, wheat , oatmeal, millet);
- drinks: freshly squeezed juices, compotes, green tea and teas made from linden leaves and twigs, strawberries, strawberries, currants, cherries;
- bee products.
Food should not be too fatty and heavy for the digestive tract. Cooking methods such as boiling, parka, and stewing are best. It is better to refrain from fried foods for a while.
You need to eat at about the same time, portions should not be large and hot soups should be present in the diet every day.
Traditional medicine for brucellosis
Traditional medicine, before starting the treatment of brucellosis, provides for cleaning the body for 3-5 days (depending on the stage and neglect of the disease).
To do this, you need to prepare the following medicinal drink: 1 liter of Epsom salts must be diluted in 0,15 liters of hot boiled water and then 0,05 liters of carrot and orange juices must be added (juices must be prepared by yourself). This portion should be drunk a day with half an hour breaks and nothing else should be eaten. Also, while taking this medication, be sure to do an enema before bed.
After three to five days, you should go to the second stage – treatment with decoctions of herbs and juices, but gradually start eating. After fasting, in no case should the patient be given a lot of food (otherwise the stomach will easily break loose and all efforts will be in vain, in addition, they will worsen the patient’s condition). Therefore, it is worth eating fractionally and in small portions, gradually increasing them. Before breakfast, lunch and dinner (30 minutes in advance), you need to drink 100 milliliters of a mixture of carrot and pumpkin juice. The drink can be prepared for several days. Juice ratio per 1 liter: 75% carrot juice and 25% pumpkin juice.
With brucellosis, it is necessary to drink decoctions from the bark of willow and birch, parsley, elder and meadowsweet flowers, nettle, horsetail, cornflower flowers, calendula. You can cook and fees.
Also, mud, mineral baths, baths with pine needles are useful.
The quality of sleep should not be overlooked. To improve it, it is better to choose solid mattresses, and even better if boards are placed under it. If changes begin in the spine, bones and joints hurt, then a bag of hot salt or sand should be fitted to the sore spots for warming up (the bag must be sewn from a simple fabric).
