Find nine differences
- Beers that are produced specifically for women tend to be lower in calories than men – this is almost always reported with pathos on the bottle label. True, do not forget that lovers of the foamy drink gain weight primarily not from it, but from numerous snacks (which, in addition, force them to order all new portions of beer). Nuremberg sausagesroastbratwurst with stewed cabbage and svichkova on sour cream with dumplings – for the sake of this yummy and figure, do not mind!
- Women’s beer tends to be sweeter than men’s beer, often due to the addition of sugar to the finished beverage.
- The most important criterion for the “femininity” of beer is its mild taste. A drink for the beautiful half of humanity should not be too strong: the German “double side” or the British “imperial stout” are likely to be ignored by many ladies. The optimal strength of female beer is 3-4 °, not more. There are special female versions with a strength of 1 °, but such beer is not too different from non-alcoholic beer.
- And one more “feminine” rule: the less bitter the beer, the better. Therefore, there is little hop in it – it is he who is responsible for the bitterness of traditional male varieties.
- Most of the women’s beers contain flavoring additives: apple, lime, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, a variety of spice mixtures classified in the brewery laboratories. Such “spicy” alcohol is not at all a newfangled delicacy: beer with spices has been brewed in Europe for a long time.
- Interestingly, champagne technology is used in the production of some female types of beer. When we say “champagne”, we, of course, mean champagne in the “Soviet” style, and not the old French method of “champagne”. The result is not very similar to beer, but there are more than enough cheerful bubbles!
- Elegance and glamor reign in the ladies’ world, therefore… bottle design is of great importance. As a rule, a bottle of women’s beer is decorated with a characteristic embossed pattern on the glass. In other cases, there is also a pink label. Is it vulgar? Well, apparently, manufacturers are referring to potential customers with a slightly different taste than yours.
- The volume of the bottle also matters. Very often it is a modest 0,33 liters, and not a brutal half liter. However, we know from experience: the last rule does not apply to Bavaria. There, drinking less than 0,5 liters is considered indecent – both for men and women. As you know, you can’t argue with traditions!
- Many ladies prefer to drink beer from elegant transparent glasses and glasses, and not from coarse mugs (you must admit that any woman does not look too feminine with a liter thick glass mug). And this is very good: thanks to the height and transparency of the glasses, you can observe the movement of the bubbles – this is how connoisseurs judge the quality of the drink.
For traditional styles, try Belgian Wheat Ale, German White, or British Sweet.
If you want something original, order an apple beer – this drink is a kind of hybrid of beer and cider. Or in Mexican style: beer with lime, as well as other citrus fruits. A great option -: delicate cherry lambic, a traditional drink originally from Belgium. By the way, it is intended not only for women – it is perfect for a romantic dinner as well. Other fruit lambics, such as raspberry, are also produced in Belgium.
