Balanced burgers, it’s possible!
Go for lean ground beef
In the preparation of burgers, restaurateurs generally use regular ground beef, the one with the highest fat content on the market. According to Food and Drug Regulations in Canada, regular ground beef must contain a maximum of 30% fat, 23% for medium-lean ground beef, 17% for lean ground beef and a maximum of 10% for extra-lean meat1. In France, the fat content in ground meat of pure beef type must be between 5% and 20%2. A ground beef patty made with extra lean meat will significantly limit the intake of fat which is excessively bad for cholesterol and heart health.
