Avoid water retention
The summer heat is approaching, but this year, you will do everything to avoid suffering the famous phenomenon of water retention to which you may be prone. Discover
Watch out for: salty products! Slow down on ultra-processed foods (crisps, aperitif biscuits) but also raw products that are naturally salted or less processed but very rich in salt: carbonated water rich in sodium, vegetable broths, olives, spreads, cold cuts, cheese, salmon smoked, smoked trout, etc.
Good reflexes
1. Keep hydrated! Still water, carbonated carbonated water but not very rich in sodium, infusion, tea, herbal teas, coffee, etc. Be careful, however, to reduce the infusions, coffee and tea after 17 p.m. because kidney activity decreases at the end of the day.
2. Give pride of place to fruits and vegetables, always with a view to supplementing water intake.
3. Substitute gomasio and spices for the table salt.
4. Consume foods rich in potassium by slightly increasing your consumption of bananas, potatoes, legumes (lentils, split peas, dried beans, chickpeas, soybeans, etc.) and oleaginous fruits (avocado, almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, etc. pecan or cashew nuts, etc.).
5. Increase your level of physical activity: the ideal is to impose a rigor in your practice by requiring yourself 3 x 20 minutes of sport per week in addition to the daily walk. Note that moderate impacts such as when running revive traffic. Swimming and aquabiking are also particularly interesting sports in the case of water retention because they promote natural drainage. Also think about dancing and everyday activities (climbing the stairs, cleaning, gardening, etc.)
Finally, think about taking time for yourself and relaxing: foot bath with salts, lymphatic massages and drainages, dry brushing and cardiac coherence breathing! You are spoiled for choice: it’s up to you to choose the methods that appeal to you the most!
