After any holiday, stains may remain on your carpet. How to remove them from the carpet at home:
1. A fresh coffee or tea stain should be blotted with a dry napkin and then brushed with a soap solution. A dried stain must be pretreated with glycerin at night, and only in the morning – cleaned with soapy water.
2. Blood stains on the carpet are removed in the usual way – with cold water. Cover the dried blood stain with a damp cloth, and when it becomes wet and softened, treat it with a brush dipped in cool water.
3. Ordinary dirt, without reagents, brought from city streets, must be thoroughly dried, and then vacuumed with a special attachment for cleaning and processing carpets.
4. Wax or wax stains from carpets should be cold cleaned. We apply ice wrapped in a plastic bag to them. Remove the frozen piece of wax or paraffin from the carpet gently and easily. A small drop of this substance can be covered with an absorbent cloth and ironed with a not very hot iron.
5. Use ice to remove chewing gum stains just as ingenuously.
6. Fresh stains of salads, fruits, chocolate and other products that have accidentally fallen from the table can be easily cleaned with this solution: mix one teaspoon of grated laundry soap with one teaspoon of wine vinegar and pour one liter of warm water.
7. Wine stains. Old stains will help you remove a mixture of soap and the “favorite food of the iron horse” – gasoline. Mix one part of water with the same amount of gasoline and dissolve 10 parts of laundry soap in this emulsion. If you get a very thick consistency, then dilute it a little with water. Rub into contaminated areas, then rinse with soapy water.
Keep in mind that removing stains on your own is possible only as a last resort, because there is a possibility of ruining the carpet. If possible, the best way to get rid of the stains is to dry-clean the carpet.
