Active recreation on the water: choose according to your liking

Someone who is losing weight is doing fitness, which is pretty boring. Anyone who lies down on the beach is not doing anything there at all. We offer a third way – semi-extreme sports on the water. There are many activities – each has its own advantages.

Surfing

The oldest (and most popular) ocean sport. According to archaeologists, they tried to master board riding in the Stone Age. Since then, little has changed, only the technology of making boards has been improved (the very first ones weighed 70 kg). Surfing is available to almost everyone (taboo only for people with serious diseases of the musculoskeletal system). A couple of hours a day on the board strengthens the muscles of the back, abdomen, arms and legs no worse than a couple of sweaty weeks in the fitness club – trying to “catch a wave” makes the muscles work harder and burn more calories than during the usual load: one hour on the board – minus 290 calories! Surfing also develops coordination very well.

Where to ride: Hawaii, Mauritius, Australia, Brazil, Canary Islands, about. Bali, about. Java, Costa Rica, Maldives, Morocco, Portugal, California.

Diving

The fashion for diving was introduced by Jacques-Yves Cousteau – it was he who invented scuba gear in the modern sense of the word. The greatest stress during diving falls on the muscles of the legs and the cardiovascular system – movement in cold water (often against the sea current) accelerates the pulse, and with it metabolic processes that actively burn fat. Just an hour of scuba diving will save you 200 calories, and instructors who dive every day lose 10-15 kg of excess weight during the season. However, this is an unsafe sport – it is prohibited for those who have problems with hearing and breathing organs, cardiovascular system, kidneys and urinary tract, metabolism, as well as with joints, muscles, tendons. Even after a banal sore throat, you will be allowed to dive no earlier than two weeks after recovery. For those who have not passed the medical examination for diving, there is snorkeling – swimming with a mask and snorkel.

Where to dive: Maldives, Malta, Egypt, Mexico, Philippines, Caribbean, Australia, about. Bali, Papua New Guinea, Barents Sea (the latter is for frost-resistant ones).

Kitesurfing

Ocean waves are not everywhere, but you can glide on the surface of the water, holding a special kite in your hands. The stronger the wind, the higher the kite rises and the faster the kitesurfer rushes after it. Holding the snake is not so easy, which is why kitesurfers have muscular arms. No less stress goes to the press and back – you need to keep balance. The kite is ideal for fragile girls who dream of learning to “stand firmly on their feet” and at the same time remain feminine. Thin waist and high chest (these are additional bonuses from corrected posture) are the result of daily activities. Experts from the “surfer community” call kitesurfing the most spectacular sport. This community, which in itself is of considerable interest, gathers every year in Egypt for the Russian Wave festival.

Where to ride: Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Krasnodar Territory (Anapa, Sochi, Gelendzhik, Tuapse, Yeisk), Montenegro, Croatia, Cuba, Mauritius.

Kayaking

This is a rafting on a rough river on small single kayak boats. Here, every movement is useful and body correction. Rowing evens out posture, strengthens the muscles of the back and shoulder girdle, makes the arms prominent (but without “pumping”). Boat controls like hooks and paddles are great for strengthening your abs. But the most valuable thing about the kayak is the special landing. After all, the legs are in the stops and are directly involved in driving the boat, and this well tightens the internal muscles of the thigh, strengthens the buttocks and relieves the body of cellulite.

Where to raft: Caucasus, Kamchatka, Karelia, Poland, Italy, Norway, Zambia.

Rafting

Fans of collective sports should enjoy rafting down the river. “Raft” translates from English as “raft”, but modern raft has little in common with a traditional raft. In fact, this is an inflatable boat with a resilient hull, with a capacity of four to twenty people (but the most popular of all are boats for six to eight rowers). During rafting, almost all the muscles of the body are trained: arms, shoulder girdle, back, legs. The more you exercise, the closer you come to circus flexibility of the body and nervous system.

Where to raft: Russia (rivers Vuoksa, Klyazma, Shuya, Mzymta, Msta), Czech Republic, Chile, South Africa, Costa Rica, Nepal.

Windsurfing

In 1968, two Californian friends attached a sail to an ordinary surfboard and called their invention “windsurf” (“driven by the wind”). This surfing is for those who do not have an ocean, and therefore available at almost any resort. It is advisable for a beginner windsurfer to be able to swim (however, they will definitely put on a life jacket) and to have trained muscles of the arms and hands – they have the main load.

Where to ride: Russia (Black and Azov Seas, Gulf of Finland), South Africa, Egypt, Hawaii, Polynesia, Canary Islands, Morocco, Spain, Australia, Vietnam.

Wakeboarding

A mix of water skiing, snowboarding and surfing. The boat at a speed of 30-40 km / h tows an athlete standing on a wide board 125-145 cm long. The wave that the boat leaves is used as a springboard for a jump. And then all muscle groups are used! If the skier loses his balance, he simply throws the tug-line – so there is practically no risk. But 15 minutes of skiing can be compared to a whole hour in the gym. The biceps, back, glutes, and hamstrings are most stressed. Strong arms and forearms help to “stretch” hard landings and hold properly on the way to the wave. Trained legs are important for stability, balance and shock absorption on landings. In addition, wakeboarding not only helps to develop muscles, but also sheds extra pounds.

Where to ride: Russia (Kursk, Samara, Yeisk), California, Thailand, England, France, Italy, Egypt.

Aquabike

To operate a jet ski, you need first of all strong hands – a jet ski weighs about 100 kg. The most tired back, right leg (if you are right-handed) and arms. A large, mostly static load falls on the legs, which absorb vibration. It also affects the hands and muscles of the body. Therefore, diseases of the musculoskeletal system are a strict contraindication for exercising. But the lucky ones admitted to the aquabike can count on the development of coordination and reaction speed, as well as the prevention of scoliosis.

Where to ride: Moscow (Krylatskoe, Strogino, Khimkinskoe reservoir), Tver, St. Petersburg, Astrakhan, Ufa, Sochi, Krasnodar, Monte Carlo, USA, Italy.

Seva Shulgin, the most famous Russian surfer and traveler, one of the organizers of the Russian Wave festival, explains why extreme sports have become the main entertainment of top managers.

Less stress

Extreme sports have two types of adepts – teenagers and top managers. It is important for the first to realize themselves, but otherwise they are similar to top managers – nervous stress makes the muscles of the body involuntarily tense, which is why “body clamps” are formed, which lead to osteochondrosis and even asthma. The only thing that can eliminate these clamps is a good dose of adrenaline, plus the need for all muscles in the body to control balance.

Less weight

Windsurfing helps me to stay in good shape. During exercise, food is instantly converted into energy. And the energy consumption in this sport is incredible! Firstly, being in water, no matter how warm it is, still takes kilojoules. Secondly, physical activity. The waist decreases especially quickly – the stance and movements of the windsurfer are similar to exercises with a hoop – it is necessary to adapt to the wind and water, turning the body in different directions. In addition, when you go to the beach, you immediately attract attention and you have the motivation to lose weight.

At home

It is clear that a working person cannot move to the sea, but on any body of water you can practice wakeboarding. A great thing – it combines speed and feeling of flight, flawless jumping technique and precision of landings. 15 minutes on the water – and your head is cleared of unnecessary thoughts. One of the most convenient places for learning and honing wakeboarding skills is the Moscow club “Malibu” in Strogino. More recently, enthusiasts have figured out how to enjoy the wave in urban water bodies, where the very concept of “wave” simply did not exist before. This is how wakesurf was born – a symbiosis of wakeboard and surfing. The idea is simple to genius! The wakeboard boat creates an endless wave astern, perfect for surfing. So now you can “catch the wave” even in urban conditions.

You can do it!

In the cycle of life, it can be difficult to find the strength to get out of the whirlwind of affairs and worries. But still, try to get away from the computer for a while and remember the enchanting views of the Hawaiian waves. Fix your gaze in your mind at the flock of whales soaring in the Pacific Ocean. Imagine lounging in the shade of palm trees on the coast of Morocco or Cape Verde. Believe me, you will want to return to a world that gives you a bright and at the same time full of difficult trials life. Drop everything and go on a journey! Musical and sports
