A third of Germans buy food online

The ability to order the products you need at any time, save time and avoid queuing at the checkout, and not carrying heavy food packages to your home on your own – these are 3 reasons why more and more people are switching to online shopping in grocery stores.

For example, in Germany, every third adult resident buys ready-made food or convenience foods, fresh vegetables, fruits, pasta, tea, coffee and other products on the Internet.

33% of Germans regularly buy groceries online and the same number of respondents plan to try it. Such figures, after a study, are called by the German Federal Association for the Digital Economy (BVDW).

In general, Germans favor online grocery shopping because they take innovation as a routine and enjoy the opportunity to do things differently. Although there are conservatives there too. So, 25% of respondents have never ordered food on the Internet and are not even going to do so.

Online products: pros and cons

Household shopping is an almost daily ritual that takes a lot of time and effort. And if pedantic Germans prefer a modern alternative, it’s worth considering. Surely, women especially appreciate the comfort of delivery. You don’t have to worry that after work you will have to run to the store, in your favorite pumps with heels, and carry a bunch of groceries in your hands.

Also, online shopping saves 50% of the time that you would normally spend going to the store. Also, you are not limited to one store and can order goods anywhere.

Although, according to 63% of German residents, grocery shopping on the Internet also has disadvantages. You cannot estimate and check the quality of food in advance. Here, as they say, trust and check immediately how the courier delivered the order.

By the way, we counted more than 10 online stores where you can buy a wide range of products in Kiev and the suburbs, as well as order courier delivery of the order directly to your home. True, outside the capital and large metropolitan areas, the situation with online products is much worse. Have you ever bought food online? Write in the comments!
