Androcur – what is it used for?
Androcur is a hormonal medicine that works by blocking the effects of male sex hormones (androgens, which are also produced, to a small extent, in the female body). Androcur is a drug in the form of tablets. It contains cyproterone – an antiandrogenic hormonal substance.

Csevere androgenic symptoms such as high degree of atypical body hair (hirsutism), severe androgen dependent hair loss eventually leading to alopecia (androgenic alopecia), often associated with severe acne and / or seborrhea.
In severe androgenic symptoms, the use of 50 mg cyproterone acetate is indicated, if satisfactory results have not been achieved with preparations containing a lower dose of cyproterone or other treatment options.
Indications for men:
Suppression of the drive in sexual deviations; antiandrogen therapy in cases of inoperable prostate cancer.
For the reduction of sexual drive in men, cyproterone acetate 50 mg may be used when other methods are considered inappropriate.
