The Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) announced that since October 24 it has temporarily suspended visits to rehabilitation centers in the stationary system. If someone has such a referral, they will be able to fulfill it at a later date.
Suspension of the rehabilitation camps
Spokesman for the Social Insurance Institution, Paweł Żebrowski, informed that «if someone has a notification of referral to ZUS rehabilitation, which was to start on October 24, 2020 or later, please stay at home«. He added that the referral was important and could be used at a later date.
In the case of rehabilitation camps that started before October 24 and are still ongoing, there is consent to continue them. “Detailed information can be obtained by calling the telephone number on the rehabilitation referral notification,” the spokesman added.
The ZUS decision was issued on the basis of the provisions of the regulation of the Council of Ministers in connection with the epidemic. There is one exception in the regulation concerning trips to sanatoriums with a referral from ZUS.
– There is one exception – namely, the provisions of the regulation suspending trips to sanatoriums with a referral from the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) allow for rehabilitation in the event of motor organ injuries, in which its discontinuation may seriously deteriorate the patient’s health condition. This applies to ZUS early post-accident rehabilitation for people who, during an accident, in particular an accident at work, suffered an injury to the locomotor system – explained the regional spokeswoman for ZUS in Lower Silesia, Iwona Kowalska-Matis, quoted by infor.pl.
Due to the inclusion of all of Poland in the red zone and the introduction of new restrictions by the government, it was decided to suspend the operation of the sanatoriums. The government has allowed the camps to be completed. Some health resorts and sanatoriums will be closed, others, such as the Ustroń health resort, will be transformed into an isolation room for coronavirus patients.
