When choosing one or another variety of zucchini, you need to pay attention not only to your own taste preferences, but also to the peculiarities of the climatic zone, soil quality and other growing conditions. This fruit does not differ in a wide variety of species, but nevertheless, some nuances when choosing planting material should not be overlooked.

Description of varieties of zucchini for open ground

It is possible to grow zucchini, like most agricultural crops, both in the greenhouse and in the open field. The choice depends on the climate, soil characteristics and the capabilities of the summer resident.

There are many varieties of zucchini that differ in both fruit shape and color.

If the cultivation of a crop is planned in the open field, then the most successful varieties can be called:

  • “Zolotinka”. Ripens quickly, after 45-50 days. The color of the vegetable is bright, from yellow to orange, weighing up to 1 kg. The shape is cylindrical. The plant is immune to powdery mildew.
  • “Gribovskie”. Ripening occurs already on the 60th day after germination. The color is green, turning into milky in the process of maturation. The weight of the fetus can reach 3 kg, the shape of the fruit is a cylinder. The plant is not resistant to diseases, but rarely gets sick.
  • “Acrobat”. Harvesting can be done within 40 days, after the first shoots. Light green elongated fruits with a ribbed surface at the stem do not exceed 300-350 grams. The variety is immune to powdery mildew.
  • “Gaydamak”. Has a more saturated green color than “Acrobat”. Ripens on the 40th-42nd day. Resistant to powdery mildew. The shape of the fruit is a cylinder, it may be slightly convex, the surface of the stalk is ribbed. Fruit weight does not exceed 300 grams.

The listed varieties do not need additional insulation during cultivation. Well suited for both canning and cooking.

The best varieties of zucchini for the greenhouse

The following varieties are suitable for growing indoors:

  • “Kuand”. You can harvest the first crop already 2 months after planting the seedlings. Fruits reach 25-30 cm in length and 1,5 kg in weight. The color is light green with pronounced stripes. In conditions of humidity in greenhouse-type rooms, the plant copes well with rot and powdery mildew.
  • “Cavili F1”. Ripen within 1–1,5 months after germination. White-green fruits weigh no more than 300 grams, are not prone to overripening. Strong immunity to disease. The plant does not need insect pollination.
  • “White-fruited”. Yields a harvest in a month. The fruit is green, with white blotches, compact in size. The maximum weight is 900 g. The plant is resistant to pests and diseases arising from high humidity in the greenhouse air.

The main advantage of these varieties is their resistance to a variety of diseases that occur against a background of high humidity. By planting these zucchini indoors, you can have up to 100 kg of yield per 10 m² of area.

Having decided on the place of growing zucchini and the possibilities of caring for them, you can easily choose the right variety. Each of them can be used for preparing blanks for the winter and long-term storage.
