Zinc is one of the most important micronutrients for our body. It regulates the level of many enzymes and is responsible for the condition of the skin, the functioning of the reproductive organs, strengthens the body’s immunity, strengthens hair and nails, accelerates wound healing and helps in the treatment of acne. Zinc paste is an inexpensive way to get rid of blemishes and keep your skin healthy.
Zinc paste and acne
It has been known for a long time that zinc compounds have a beneficial effect on the skin. The biggest advantage of zinc paste is that, even when used in excess, it does not give any side effects – all thanks to the appropriate concentration of zinc. In cosmetics, zinc usually takes the form of zinc oxide, i.e. ZnO. Zinc paste is zinc oxide mixed with a liquid in which other ingredients have been dissolved.
After a time, the liquids evaporate from the thick ointment on the skin, leaving zinc oxide on the skin, which forms a protective layer. It gently dries acne spots, but also inhibits the development of common pimples in people who have no problems with this ailment. The use of zinc paste also helps restore a healthy color and remove redness. Zinc paste is an excellent remedy for acne and pimples. Zinc paste with salicylic acid is also available on the market, which has an even stronger effect than regular zinc paste.
It is worth realizing that zinc paste has more than twice the amount of zinc oxide in it than in zinc ointment, and the paste itself is difficult to spread. Therefore, zinc paste is perfect where it does not need to be spread.

Zinc paste – application
The ointment is available without a prescription and costs less than PLN 10. Zinc paste should be applied topically to eczema or acne lesions. Before applying it to the skin, clean it and dry it with a towel. Zinc paste can be used 1 or 2 times a day, but it is worth remembering to apply small amounts – enough to cover the eczema.
Zinc paste is best used at night because it is not absorbed and leaves visible white traces. Unfortunately, zinc paste is not suitable for use under makeup.

Zinc paste – contraindications
If in doubt, read the leaflet, especially the section explaining how to use the preparation. However, it should not be used on open, fresh and unhealed wounds. The only contraindication to the use of zinc paste is allergy or hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients, e.g. zinc.
Zinc paste should also be used with caution while applying other preparations, so that the ingredients do not react to each other and therefore cause severe irritation. People with bronchial asthma should consult a doctor before using zinc paste.
A common addition to zinc paste is salicylic acid, which can also irritate the skin. To avoid unpleasant incidents, remember not to use the paste with this ingredient on wounds, skin covered with hair and in children under 2 years of age.
Although zinc paste is readily available and cheap, a dermatologist consultation is necessary for more severe skin and acne problems. – a specialist dermatologist will determine the type of acne and prescribe a treatment with specialized agents.
Skin problems that are not acne lesions may also indicate a deficiency of zinc in the body – hair, skin and nails are the most sensitive to the deficiency of this element. Nevertheless, it is worth taking care of the correct amount of zinc even if there are no skin problems. The easiest way is to include zinc-rich foods in your diet – it includes buckwheat, veal liver, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, as well as almonds and real cocoa.
You can also include supplements in your diet, such as a TWIN PACK of Zinc 50 mg – to supplement your daily zinc requirement. Vegans and vegetarians can safely reach for the SOLHERBS Zinc supplement.
Zinc paste – other applications
Zinc ointment also has a UV-blocking effect, which makes it a great protection against the sun (only locally). Zinc paste is also great for various inflammations or abrasions. Zinc paste can be used for diaper dermatitis that affects babies. However, you need to remember to use the paste pointwise, and not apply it to healthy areas of the skin. The point is to prevent the skin from drying out and causing unnecessary irritation.
