Zelix – characteristics
Zelixa is a medicine in the form of film-coated tablets that is designed to help you lose weight. Zelixa is used as a means of supporting the fight against obesity and overweight in people whose other non-pharmacological activities are not sufficient to achieve the desired weight loss effect. Tablets are designed to suppress appetite, and also accelerate metabolism and burn fat. The drug is used in the pharmacological treatment of obesity in adults.
Zelixa is to support the obtained results, therefore taking the preparation should be combined with a properly selected diet and physical activity. Use of the drug is indicated only in those patients in whom weight loss has not been sufficiently achieved by non-pharmacological methods, i.e. 5 kg within 3 months. Taking the tablets should take place only under strict medical supervision.
Zelixa – composition
Zelixa consists mainly of sibutramine hydrochloride, a substance which suppresses the appetite. The action of sibutramine is such that it re-absorbs norepinephrine, serotonin and dopamine. Consumption of this ingredient causes a feeling of satiety after a meal quickly, so you cannot eat less food and be saturated. The result may be faster weight loss in obese and overweight people.
Zelixa – dosage
Zelixa comes in the form of oral tablets, taken whole regardless of the meal. The dosage of the preparation is recommended by the doctor, however, the tablets should not be taken for more than 1 year. The tablets should not be taken solely as the sole means of losing weight. Zelixa should only be taken as a weight loss aid, evenly with a healthy diet and adequate physical activity. Do not drink alcohol while consuming the drug. This medicine has been prescribed by your doctor to treat a specific medical condition. It should not be transferred to other people or used in other circumstances without consulting a doctor.
Zelixa – side effects
Zelixa can cause many side effects, including:
- constipation
- lack of appetite
- dry mouth
- insomnia,
- headache and dizziness
- sensation and taste disturbances,
- vomiting,
- diarrhea,
- feeling anxious
- palpitations, rapid heart beat
- reducing concentration,
- short-term memory impairment,
- urinary retention,
- increased sweating,
- taste disturbance
- increase in blood pressure
- deterioration of driving ability,
- blood and lymphatic system disorders.
Zelixa – contraindications to use
A contraindication to the use of Zelixa is an allergy to the components of the drug. There are also a number of contraindications in which the drug cannot be taken, including: appetite disorders such as bulimia or anorexia, mental disorders, hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism and hyperfunction of the adrenal cortex. Zelixa cannot be used by people suffering from: glaucoma, prostate, congenital lactose intolerance, liver and kidney problems, or glucose-galactose malabsorption, heart disease, arterial hypertension, and depression. Zelixa should not be used by people under the age of 18, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers.
