The Retinto Route in Zahara de los Atunes, is an initiative that was born by the Zahara de los Atunes Merchants Association, (ACOZA) and will take place September 24-28, 2014.
Zahara de los Atunes dares with meat and fish, taking this week the sample of the route of the cattle breeds as the maximum exponent of the Cadiz coast in terms of gastronomic route.
The Almadraba tuna will be called for other dates but always looking for local promotion with the now famous Tuna Route.
Summer comes to an end with this gastronomic contest that aims to reach 50.000 tapas served and surpass the records of past editions, responding to the initiative of local hoteliers who see in this type of event a unique opportunity to close the summer season with good numbers, good dishes and of course lots of fun.
The town of Zahara de los Atunes will offer us during these days various activities for children, the well-known horse races, a polo tournament, and different cultural activities promoted by the local council.
This 5th edition will present a professional jury made up of Javier Estévez (Top chef), Teresa Gutierrez (El Azafrán Restaurant), Rebeca Hernandez ( The eggplant ), Javier González (by Javier Tapería, San Fernando), Jose Recio (Valvatida, Vejer de la Frontera) and Mirian Rodriguez (Restaurant La Duquesa de Medina Sidonia).
The prizes to the winners will focus on the covers in competition in 3 categories (1st, 2nd and 3rd, “Top Concept ” y “Original Cover”) with prizes of 500, 300 and 150 euros and there is also the ‘gold cover ‘, For participants who try all the tapas and fill out their “card” by participating in a raffle for a weekend in Atlanterra.
