On December 12, the All-Russian final of the Beauty of Russia 2016 contest will take place. The Urals are represented by two beauties – Yulia Ignatova and Anastasia Surkova.
Yulia Ignatova, 19 years old, Yekaterinburg:
– I was professionally engaged in belly dancing, participated in international competitions, won victories, and there were also defeats! But they only made me stronger. I am also a candidate for master of sports in cross-country skiing and graduated from college with honors.
I believe that I was able to combine the incompatible: to play a men’s sport – football (I have two CCMs in women’s football), while remaining feminine.
I enjoy participating in contests. When I was in college, I won the Miss College competition. Then she won the beauty contest of all the colleges in the city. Later she took part in the city “Beauty of Russia”. I went there just for participation, but in the end I won first place. I still don’t believe that this happened to me! But I put a lot of energy and nerves into the competition. And now the next stage is “Beauty of Russia” in Moscow. We arrived in the capital on November 21. I will represent Yekaterinburg, and Anastasia Surkova – the Sverdlovsk region.

The first day was, perhaps, the most difficult emotionally: meeting with the organizers and rivals. We may have been lucky this year because there are so many fewer members than usual. We all quickly got to know each other. The girls are old enough – 23-25 years old. Therefore, against their background, I feel a little small, because I am only 19. But, despite this, I try to show myself and fight! I think it’s time for our region to become the top three!
Four of us live in one room: me, Nastya and two more girls representing Perm.
As soon as we arrived in Moscow, we immediately went to the pool and sauna. The next day, rehearsals and fitness began. In the morning there was exercise, then breakfast. Later we went to the next organizational meeting, and from it – to many hours of rehearsals: dancing, defile, posture … On the same day we saw the first jury – those who will choose the winner on the day of the final. They appreciated our figure and appearance. It was exciting – we prepared the swimwear in the morning.
Already in the morning of the second day, we realized that our willpower was simply being tested – there was nothing dietary on the tables! We ate porridge for breakfast, but we just looked at cookies and sausages!
Anastasia Surkova, 26 years old, Pervouralsk:
– As a child, I was engaged in choreography, sports swimming, English. In 2005 she started going to a modeling school and took part in Ural Fashion week shows. In 2006 she took part in the city beauty contest among graduates, received the nomination “Miss Audience Choice”. After the competition, I was invited to work at the Alexandri modeling agency in Yekaterinburg. She took part in the annual New Look competition of professional models. She graduated from UrFU, where she learned three foreign languages, took an internship in France. In 2014, together with friends, we created our own business selling spare parts for foreign special equipment.
I love to play sports. In the summer I ride a bike and run in the park, in the winter I snowboard, I go to the pool and gym. In the evenings I knit, read or make custom-made cakes. Recently I started learning to play the synthesizer. I love animals very much, my favorite is horses! I am learning to ride and dream of buying a horse to participate in show jumping tournaments. I love to communicate with people, travel, observe social life, other people’s destinies, follow how people achieve their goals!
In Moscow, our every day begins with sports activities. Since our hotel has a swimming pool, we go swimming almost every day. We have rehearsals after breakfast, lunch and dinner. In short, we have no time to get bored.
