Comments

The expression Right Kidney or Left Kidney, in traditional Chinese medicine, does not refer to the anatomical location, but to the physiological action of the Energy of the Kidneys including the adrenals.

The Right Kidney is the basis of Yang Energy for the whole body. If the Kidney Yang is deficient, we will observe: physical and mental fatigue, cold lower back and knees, sterility in women, impotence and premature ejaculation in men.

The Left Kidney is the base of body fluids and its role is to moisten and nourish the organs and tissues, it is the Yin primordial. If the Left Kidney is weak, it cannot control the Yang and we will observe: heat in the hands, feet and heart region, night sweating, hot flush and spermatorrhea, dry mouth and throat.

The Right Kidney and Left Kidney work together in the production and conservation of Jing – or Essence – stored in the Kidneys. the Jing has a direct influence on growth, physical and mental integrity, and the power of procreation.

In cases of infertility, You Qi Wan is the basic product to be used when the Yang Kidney is involved, Zuo Gui Wan when the Yin is deficient.

Infertility is a complex issue, it is best to consult a doctor and a traditional Chinese medicine therapist to improve the chances of giving birth to a healthy child.
