Expired referral for vaccination against COVID-19. What to do?
Vaccinations against COVID-19 for the group aged 40-59 started on April 1. It was then that e-referrals for these people began to appear in the system. And since referrals are valid for 90 days, recently some – this applies, of course, to still unvaccinated – people could find such information on their Online Patient Account.
“Your referral for COVID-19 vaccination has expired.”
What to do in this situation? On the website patient.gov.pl you can find information on extending the validity of e-referrals for seniors.
In April, e-referrals for people 80+ issued on April 13 and for people aged 70-79 issued on April 18 expired. “They have been canceled and re-issued for those who: have not yet vaccinated, do not have an appointment or have not tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 90 days (from May 17 in the last 30 days).”
- The Supreme Medical Chamber allows the mixing of vaccines. But only in one case
Does this also apply to other age groups? There is no such information on the government website, so we asked the Ministry of Health for information.
«If an unused e-referral expires, a new one is automatically issued. Issuing a new referral to IKP takes about 24 hours » – we obtained this information from the MZ Communication Office.
Vaccinations from July 1 – what is changing?
The most important change that has come into force recently is the possibility of receiving a second dose of the vaccine anywhere (here you can find a map of vaccination points), without the need to make an appointment in advance.
It is possible to come on foot, even while on vacation away from where we live and the point where we were scheduled for the second injection.
However, we must remember that the minimum prescribed interval between doses must elapse. You will also need an ID document and a certificate confirming that you have taken the first dose. After taking a dose, a vaccination point will mark on the system that we have vaccinated at a different place and time than we were enrolled in.

– It will all be organized in an intuitive way. If someone goes to another place in Poland during the holidays, he will be able to find out where the vaccination point is there, call, visit the point and make an appointment – confirmed on Monday Minister of Health Adam Niedzielski.
Do you want to test your COVID-19 immunity after vaccination? Have you been infected and want to check your antibody levels? See the COVID-19 immunity test package, which you will perform at Diagnostics network points.
Another significant change is that from July 1, Pfizer / BioNTech preparations will be used only for second doses. This is what the president of the Governmental Agency for Strategic Reserves, Michał Kuczmierowski, decided.
This is due to the fact that the supply of vaccines from this manufacturer is lower than originally planned.
