Benefits of yeast for facial skin
Connoisseurs of amateur cosmetic activities call yeast a “storehouse of vitamins.” Without claiming to be a guru of kitchen cosmetics, we will not deny that yeast can be very useful for facial skin, they really contain many useful components. And it is not in vain that all home beauty encyclopedias have a separate chapter dedicated to the yeast face mask.
What exactly is in yeast? What vitamins and minerals?
First of all, it is:
vitamins of group B, which have a beneficial effect on the state of the skin barrier and take part in metabolic processes;
micro and macro elements, including magnesium, potassium, iron, zinc and iodine;
amino acids;
mono- and polyunsaturated fatty acids;
vitamin E.
Together, this wealth helps to restore the balance of oily skin, evens out the relief and tone. All these “sweets” are very necessary for the skin microbiome, often yeast is introduced into cosmetics as a prebiotic.

It is generally accepted that a yeast face mask is addressed to the skin of a young, problematic, with an increased secretion of sebum. All this is true, but it is worth enriching the mask, for example, with oil, as it will immediately acquire nutritional properties, while retaining its original abilities.
What yeast is used for cosmetic purposes?
As mentioned above, cosmetics manufacturers use yeast extract.
A yeast face mask can be prepared:
from pressed raw yeast – such a remedy is considered especially effective, since this yeast is “live”, with active microorganisms;
from dry yeast, the mask is less preferable, the effect is not so noticeable;
from brewer’s yeast, but provided that liquid brewer’s yeast is used and not tablets.
A basic yeast mask recipe can be adapted to suit different skin needs.
How to make a yeast face mask at home
Before making a yeast face mask, we suggest that you familiarize yourself with the basic rules that will help you competently adapt any recipe to your needs.
Yeast is mixed with warm liquid and left to ferment for 30 minutes. It is good to add honey and a little flour to such masks – carbohydrates will speed up the process. For proofing, traditional baker’s yeast in briquettes is best suited, it is better to crumble them beforehand.
The yeast is mixed into the liquid and used immediately – this express option is good if you use quick dry yeast or are limited in time.
If you are diluting your yeast with water, make sure it is of good quality.
Liquid brewer’s yeast is not activated by anything, does not mix with the liquid, but is directly added to the mask, which is immediately used.
The remains of the yeast-based face mask are not stored, they must be thrown away.
The yeast mask is aged on the skin for an average of 15-20 minutes. It is important not to allow it to dry on the face. If there is a feeling of tightness, the mask should be washed off immediately.
The basic recipe for a yeast mask is as follows:
Anti aging
This yeast-based anti-aging face mask is made with simple ingredients and is easy to make at home, even for beginner beauty cooks. The nutrients added to the yeast will soften the skin, give it radiance, while the yeast will smooth out fine lines and refresh the complexion.
For acne

It is enough to dilute the yeast with kefir and apply the composition on the face – the fermented milk product additionally helps to cleanse and exfoliate the skin. A kefir and yeast mask is also useful for caring for dull or aging skin.
Yeast can also be diluted with water by adding a teaspoon of lemon juice – lemon is introduced for an exfoliating effect, as well as to even out tone.
However, in the preparation of masks for oily and problem skin, you can not philosophize – the yeast itself has a sufficient matting, drying and anti-inflammatory effect.
Find out which mask is right for you by answering a few questions.

Contraindications to the use of yeast face masks
Yeast in some cases can cause an allergic reaction. Therefore, before applying the mask to your face, do an allergy test: apply the composition to the skin on the elbow or wrist and wait. If there is no reaction, you can do beauty.
