Bolsheselsky branch of SE “Yardormost”: The road always requires attention
Today, maintenance of the roads of the Yaroslavl region is the task of the state enterprise “YARDORMOST”, numbering 11 branches in various districts of our region, which perform complex and necessary work – the maintenance and repair of highways. On the eve of October 16 – Day of road workers, we talked about the activities of the enterprise with Director of the Bolsheselsky branch of the State Enterprise “YARDORMOST” Gennady Alekseevich Gorbunov.
What are the latest achievements of the company in recent years?
We took part in the construction of the first stage of the bridge across the river. Volga, carried out work on the Yaroslavl – Uglich highway and on the repair of regional highways. In Yaroslavl, our forces have improved the territory of the Astronbuildings plant, the Takeda and Teva plants, the Vimpelcom technical center on Technoparkova street. We actively cooperate with the leading industrial enterprises of our region and take part in the elimination of the consequences of emergencies.
What is the main advantage of your branch?
The strong point of our branch is the established cohesive team and a responsible attitude to work. We are also located in the center of the Yaroslavl region, which makes it possible to carry out work in various parts of the region.
How do you assess the technical potential of the enterprise?
The park has 12 dump trucks, 11 combined road vehicles, 3 motor graders, 3 bulldozers. There are also excavators, asphalt pavers, rollers, a road marking machine – in a word, everything you need to repair roads and keep them in good condition.
What is the principle of organizing the work of the enterprise?
Our company works regardless of the season. We have already begun preparations for the winter, checking the serviceability of the equipment, carrying out the necessary repairs. We also started to prepare a sand-salt mixture for sprinkling roads from ice. Naturally, the roads are also being repaired, but the weather conditions are always taken into account.
What can you say about the team of the enterprise?
Today, the staff includes 116 people, among them there are those who have been at the enterprise from the very beginning of its foundation. The technological part of production depends on the workers, so everyone should be aware of their importance and responsibility. Several years ago the company had difficult times, but I am very grateful to those people who did not go to look for a better share on the side and even in difficult times stayed to work in our branch.
How is the staff replenished?
We are always glad to graduates of higher and secondary specialized educational institutions of a technical profile. There is a possibility of taking advanced training courses. Tractor drivers are especially needed now. We are happy to take students for practical training, after which they can stay at the enterprise. The average salary is 28000 rubles, so there is a great incentive for young people.
Gennady Alekseevich, what can you wish your colleagues – road workers on their professional holiday?
First of all, I want to wish everyone good health, so that everything in life develops in the best possible way, there is a stable job and a decent income. I would especially like to congratulate all veterans of the road industry, because they form a powerful backbone of professionals in their field.
History of the enterprise: The Bolsheselsky branch of the state enterprise “YARDORMOST” has existed since 1936. Its history begins with the creation of road departments under the district executive committees, which were later transformed into road maintenance sections. Over time, the organizational and legal form of the enterprise has changed, but it remains unchanged that for 80 years the Bolsheselsky branch of the state enterprise “YARDORMOST” has been performing qualitatively work related to the maintenance, operation and repair of public highways. Today the enterprise serves 430 kilometers of roads in Yaroslavl, Tutaevsky, Myshkinsky, Bolsheselsky districts.
Educational plant “Meliorator”: Time for blue-collar occupations
Every medal always has a reverse side. The crisis, although it brought us many troubles, became the starting point for the return of blue-collar occupations to the labor market. Large and small businesses need qualified professionals with good training. It is never too late to study, just like mastering a new specialty and finding a worthy place in the labor market – the teachers of the Meliorator educational plant are sure.
The long history of the educational complex, and it began its work back in 1977, demonstrates that everyone is capable of mastering a new profession and getting a good job. A professional team of teachers will always help their wards to reveal their abilities and get good qualifications.
Now the plant is working in several directions. The first is to improve the skills of employees of various city enterprises in labor protection, industrial safety, fire safety, electrical safety, railway operation, loading and unloading operations with dangerous goods, as well as retraining of persons responsible for ensuring traffic safety.
The second, no less important direction is training in blue-collar occupations and specialties. To enter the educational complex “Meliorator” it is enough to have an education on the basis of nine classes, and training can be completed at any age. The choice is huge: training or advanced training is carried out in more than 40 types of specialties: electric and gas welder, gas cutter, tractor driver, excavator driver, road roller driver, loader driver, crane operator, slinger, locksmith and many others. The maximum training period is 4,5 months. For busy people who are not ready to leave work during their studies, there are special short courses on an agreed schedule of classes.
– In addition to the theoretical base and classes in our workshops and training grounds, we will definitely provide our students with practice at city enterprises, where they can get a good experience of real work, – said the deputy director of the plant Pavel Ukraintsev, – And after that all our graduates for a short time to find a job in their specialty. Our good technical and educational base contributes to such a high quality of education. To train specialists, we have classrooms in various disciplines, computer classes, multimedia equipment, a training ground for practicing control techniques for various types of transport, our own large fleet of equipment from cars to working machines, and workshops equipped with everything necessary. On the territory of the plant there is a hotel for visitors from other cities, a canteen and a health complex.
Driving school CHUDPO “Educational plant” Meliorator “
Its own driving school has been successfully operating on the basis of the Meliorator training center for many years. Here you can get always in demand specialties: the driver of a category B car, snowmobile, ATV and many others.
During theoretical and practical lessons, teachers and instructors of the driving school will teach you how to competently and safely drive a car in conditions of modern heavy traffic on the roads. Especially for busy people, theoretical courses are held on Saturdays, and the time for practical classes can be selected by agreement with the instructor. If you already have a license, but you have not been behind the wheel for a long time, then the specialists of the driving school will help you regain your driving skills and conduct classes to the extent that you personally need.
The autodrome of the school is equipped according to the latest requirements and has passed all the necessary certifications. Our own vehicle fleet has five cars: domestic and foreign cars, with a manual transmission and an automatic transmission. The driving test is taken in the same car in which the practical lessons are held.
“The quality of our training is at a high level, which is confirmed by a good percentage of passing the exam in the traffic police,” said the director of the driving school Lyudmila Khomutova. – For our students, we offer favorable terms of payment: a low cost of one hour of practical training, a free trial lesson, payment by installments for tuition, no hidden payments (for example, for fuel), various discounts and special offers.

Pereslavl branch of SE “Yardormost”: The main task is reliable roads
Quality and reliability are the main characteristics of the Pereslavl branch of the State Enterprise “Yardormost”.
“We are trying to work with the latest technologies,” says the director of the enterprise Vladimir Peganov. – They were the only ones in the region who managed to modernize their asphalt concrete plant, this allows us to perform work not only better, but also to extend the warranty period of their service from three to four to seven years. Previously, ordinary crushed stone was used for all types of asphalt, now we import granite from Karelia, which, in combination with chemical stabilizing additives, allows us to achieve the desired result.
And the result is exactly what is especially important in any work, and, of course, road workers are no exception. Moreover, Pereslavl specialists are currently servicing 519 km of regional roads. These are three main directions: the central highway, as well as exits to Sergiev Posad and Vladimir.
As for the work performed, the Pereslavl road workers, in addition to servicing the roads assigned to them (and this, by the way, as Vladimir Sergeevich emphasizes, is already quite enough for life), confidently carry out any orders, be it road markings, or more serious volumes already in several dozen million.
And the team has opportunities for this. The Pereslavl branch of the State Enterprise “Yardormost” is about 60 pieces of equipment and real professionals in their field, on whom you can always rely in everything. Almost 100 people work here. The peculiarity of the enterprise is that the main directions are headed by women, and this applies not only to the planning department and accounting. The masters of all five production sites here are also representatives of the fair sex.
They cope with their duties quite confidently. And both experienced specialists, whose work experience has been for more than a dozen years, and young people willingly adopting the experience of veterans who also once started with one car, over time having mastered at least two or three pieces of equipment, work at the sites.
The enterprise has its own good traditions, and it can be quite proud of its history. After all, the enterprise was founded on January 1, 1936, and this year is not just an anniversary year for it, but also a convincing confirmation of confidence in the future. The friendly team of road workers lives, works, meeting their next professional holiday with stable work.
And people appreciate the opportunity to work at the enterprise. There are many labor dynasties – Ovchinnikovs, Druzhechkovs. The daughter and granddaughter of the former director Ovchinnikov are currently working. This is the senior accountant Irina Yuryevna Aratyunyan and her daughter Margarita, who is in charge of personnel and refueling. The father and uncle of the current leader Vladimir Sergeevich, Sergey Petrovich Peganov, an honorary road builder of Russia, his older brother, Vyacheslav Petrovich Peganov, a holder of the Order of Glory of two degrees, have worked for more than a dozen years.

Uglich DSU: they don’t have any roads!
The topic of road construction will probably never lose its relevance. The appearance of road vehicles on city streets causes genuine joy, and a thought involuntarily runs through my head – finally! For us, each new road is a pleasant event, and for road workers – working days.
The Uglich Road Construction Department has hundreds of kilometers of roads. The company has been building, reconstructing, repairing and maintaining highways and road structures for more than forty-five years. Having overcome the difficulties and vicissitudes of the crisis periods, the DSU not only established itself on the territory of the region, but also went beyond its limits.
“We are working now in Yaroslavl (courtyards along Motorostroiteley Street) and at the entrance from Rybinsk to Yaroslavl,” explained Alexander Nikitin, general director of DSU. – There are objects in Borisogleb, in Uglich and outside the region (Ivanovo, Vladimir region). There is enough work.
“What is good today, tomorrow is bad” – a kind of motto and principle of work of the Uglich DSU reflects constant self-improvement. Moreover, we are talking not only about the renewal of the vehicle fleet, but also the training of workers. The head of the company calls his employees the main driving force.
– Today the company employs 240 people. Among them there are those who have been working since 1975. We don’t see a lot of staff turnover. Average work experience of employees is 20-25 years. This is despite the fact that the work of the road workers is, to put it mildly, not easy. In the summer, seven days a week, and in winter you will not relax (more than 900 roads are in operation).
According to Alexander Lvovich, DSU employees regularly undergo training in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Specialists from Germany invited by the management of the enterprise help to introduce European technologies on the roads of the region.
– Now there is a large selection of training programs for economists, accountants, etc., but it is difficult to find decent courses for road technologists. Vocational education institutions provide basic knowledge. But technology is constantly improving. For example, in Germany there are two thousand technological maps for rolling asphalt concrete. The quality of the asphalt, the temperature regime, there are a lot of subtleties in our work. Everything needs to be learned.
There are successes and difficulties in the life of the DSU, but there is no place for stoppages – the competition is too high! The organization’s development plan is drawn up by the management for 5–8 years ahead. The nearest prospect is the transition to new geodetic instruments, the purchase of more modern laboratory equipment, the renewal of the fleet of road-building machines, primarily those that can improve the quality of the road surface.
– Recently, GOSTs and standards have not changed so much as the customer’s approach. The customer has become more demanding. This applies to both regional and city roads, – Alexander Lvovich explained.
Today DSU has the status of a dynamically developing enterprise in the road construction industry. This is confirmed by numerous awards and diplomas of professional competitions. The employees of the enterprise also have government awards.
– Our company is ready to perform work of any complexity. We can be contacted not only by budgetary organizations, but also by non-budgetary organizations (small commercial companies, homeowners associations, etc.).
The meeting with the head of the DSU Alexander Nikitin took place on the eve of the professional holiday – the Day of Road Workers.
