2016 was a very fruitful year for the Center for Patriotic Education. Established only in 2011, today the Center for Patriotic Education is a modern platform for youth policy in the field of patriotic education. The institution employs a new team of specialists who have devoted more than one year to the youth policy of the region and truly love their work. The center organizes events throughout the year, takes part in the preparation of major regional events, and also organizes the work of several associations. Thus, the institution covers all areas of patriotic education. In the “Center for Patriotic Education”, a lot of work is done by the directions – the Yaroslavl Regional Youth Detachment “Law and Order” and the Regional Branch of the All-Russian Public Movement “Victory Volunteers”. “Law and Order” is a team of young guys who receive psychological and physical training, attend theoretical and practical classes, get acquainted with the activities of internal affairs officers – and all this to achieve the main goal – to assist internal affairs officials in protecting public law and order. Victory Volunteers is a team of caring and enthusiastic children who organize a large number of patriotic events throughout the year, provide assistance to lonely elderly people, improve memorable places, conduct youth historical quests, and become the main force in organizing Victory Parades. In 2016, the Center held 256 different events, the total coverage of which amounted to 167 people. Sports and creative festivals and competitions, events dedicated to memorable dates and public holidays, social projects and actions – the Center covers many forms of patriotic events and attracts different categories of participants to participate. The main activities of the Center for Patriotic Education are:

• Regional children’s and youth military-sports game “Victory”, which is a complex of educational and competitive activities on patriotic education, physical culture and the basics of life safety for children and adolescents.
• Spartakiad in military sports all-around “Draf of Russia”. The participants of the Olympics are high school students of the Yaroslavl Region. The guys compete in assembling / disassembling AK, running, air rifle shooting, pull-ups, standing jumping.
• Defense and sports camp “Patriot. Citizen. Warrior ”, which for 15 years has been gathering participants of children’s and youth patriotic organizations of the Yaroslavl region.
• Regional festival of literary and musical compositions “For you, my Russia!”
• Regional festival of interethnic cooperation “On the same land”, in which teams in a creative way talk about the nationality that lives in their municipal area. Before that, the guys are doing a lot of local history work.
• Student military-patriotic meeting “Theater of military operations”, which is dedicated to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and annually gathers students from all universities of the Yaroslavl region. For several days, young people live in the open air and test themselves for strength, endurance and dexterity.

In addition to traditional events, the Center for Patriotic Education is trying to create new ones. One of the significant and important events of 2016 was the Regional Complex Event dedicated to the celebration of the Day of Heroes of the Fatherland. On one day, December 9, the Center organized several diverse – sports and intellectual – grounds, and in parallel with these competitions the regional festival of interethnic cooperation “On the same land” was held. The Center for Patriotic Education is a modern, developing platform for youth policy in our region. In addition to organizing events, the employees of the Center carry out extensive information work, highlighting the activities of the institution and creating interesting and informative sections on social networks. Undoubtedly, 2016 was a rich and productive year for the Center for Patriotic Education, which gives reason, based on the experience gained, to achieve even greater results in 2017.
