XIV Tapas Contest of La Rioja

La Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and the Environment  of Regional Government of La Rioja , through La Rioja Capital, carries out as usual at this time the La Rioja Tapas Contest.

This its fourteenth edition will be held during the month of November, not to coincide with the informative program of wine culture ‘El Rioja y los 5 Sentidos’, which is held during the month of September coinciding with the harvest.

The local hospitality industry presents its creations to a competition during the weekends of November, to reach the last one as a finalist in the great awards gala that will take place in the Rioja Culture Center.

The jury evaluating the finalists among the 33 locals assigned to the contest, will assess each skewer in situ to select the 10 finalists who will compete for the recognition of being chosen on “Best Pincho de la Rioja 2014“, And one of the cash prizes for each category:

• Gold Apron, endowed with a cash prize of € 1.200
• Plat Aprona, endowed with a cash prize of € 600
• Bronze Apron, endowed with a cash prize of € 300
• Special mention “Twhat is Capital”Endowed with a cash prize of € 150 (made with Food from La Rioja).
• Award to Most popular topr ”, endowed with a cash prize of € 150 (chosen by all participants and through social networks; Twitter: @lariojacapital)

During the celebration of the final Gala, the finalist establishments will prepare their snacks in a show-cooking that will surely make the event an authentic gastronomic feast.

La Rioja Capital, promoter of the event, shows in this edition the request of the local hospitality industry to make the event a unique program, separate from other events much more focused on the culture of wine that we all associate directly with this region.

La Rioja Capital, is an initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Environment of the Government of La Rioja to publicize, disseminate and promote Rioja food with a quality label, as well as the wealth and eno-gastronomic culture of this Earth.
