What is constipation?
Constipation is an unpleasant ailment that can significantly hinder everyday functioning. Especially when constipation has been going on for several days and no home remedies for stimulating the digestive system work. Constipation can be defined as prolonged retention of digested food in the large intestine or inhibition of stool excretion from the end of the digestive tract, i.e. the rectum. If the digested content remains in the large intestine for too long, it becomes denser and the stool loses volume, but at the same time becomes harder and more compact. In some cases, it may be possible to have a bowel movement only after taking the appropriate drugs. There are 3 types of constipation, including accidental, short-term and chronic constipation. Accidental constipation is usually caused by a stressful situation, travel, or a sudden change in eating habits. Short-term constipation usually occurs every now and then, and if its cyclicality becomes too frequent, consult your doctor. Chronic constipation results from disturbances in the functioning of the digestive and digestive systems. These disorders are a consequence of an improper diet and lack of physical activity.
