A contraindication to the use of Xarelto is an allergy to any component of the preparation.

Xarelto should also not be used in case of excessive bleeding, kidney or liver disorders, blood clotting disorders, gastric or intestinal ulcer, retinopathy, history of bleeding in the brain, problems with blood vessels in the brain or spine, after spine or eye surgery. .

Xarelto should not be combined with the use of antifungal drugs, antiviral drugs for HIV infection or the treatment of AIDS, drugs that reduce blood clotting, anti-inflammatory drugs and painkillers, drugs for the treatment of epilepsy, preparations containing St. John’s wort and rifampicin. Inform your doctor about all medications you are currently taking, including over-the-counter medications.

Xarelto should not be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

How is Xarelto used?

Xarelto is taken orally, strictly as prescribed by your doctor. The drug can be used with or without food. Swallow the Xarelto tablet whole (do not chew or crush it) with a sufficient amount of water.
