Wrestler: herb for outdoor use
Aconite, larkspur, skullcap, king-grass, goat’s death, black root – all these are the names of a beautiful, but poisonous flower called a wrestler. It is planted to decorate paths, park areas, and create flower beds. The wrestler is an unpretentious plant, therefore it takes root anywhere well.
What does a herbaceous plant fighter look like?
Aconite looks innocent: pale purple, white, blue bells of irregular shape are collected on a high stem with tassels. The ratio of greenery and juicy color is approximately equal, which looks harmonious. But you can touch this beauty with great care. The wrestler is really very poisonous. In the ancient world, plants soaked arrows with sap, poisoned reservoirs.
The fighter is a poisonous plant
Nevertheless, its aesthetic appearance, unpretentiousness, frost resistance make the perennial plant popular with flower growers and landscape designers. About 300 plant species have been discovered, but they all have a number of recognizable features:
- tuberous root system;
- straight stem from 60 to 120 cm high;
- juicy green separate stems;
- five-petal bud;
- seed fruit with small grayish brown or black small seeds.
There are aconites with a curly stem. Such vines reach 2 m and are used to decorate vertical surfaces.
The flowering period of aconites lasts from July to the end of September. They prefer moist soils and sunny areas, although they thrive well on sandy dry ground and in partial shade. The plant does not bloom in full shade.
To breed them in a garden or summer cottage, use the method of dividing the bush. The wrestler is planted like any herb for open ground with tuberous roots. In the fall, after flowering is complete, the root is dug up and divided into parts. Young children are good planting material.
The landing procedure is normal.
- Fertilize the area under the flowers with organic fertilizer.
- Dig a hole 30-40 cm deep so that the entire root system is deepened into the soil.
- Sprinkle soil over the root.
- Pour with lukewarm water.
- Mulch with sawdust, peat, chopped grass.
Water the planted plant infrequently, but abundantly, without fear of flooding the roots. Periodically remove dry stems, weeds, loosen the ground 2-3 times per season. To maintain a decorative look, plant the bushes at least once every 1 years.
The wrestler is a plant with original flowers and beautiful carved leaves. It easily takes root, tolerates winters well, does not require special care.
