Wormwood tinctures: 4 recipes at home

Infusions and decoctions based on wormwood have been used since ancient times as a healing agent: to get rid of intestinal disorders and female diseases, as an antidote for poisoning, a diuretic and tonic. Due to its strong bitterness, drinks made from this herb are not particularly pleasant to drink, so it is often mixed with other substances.

Wine tincture from wormwood

The drink should be consumed with caution: no more than 100 grams per day. The infusion well tones the digestive system.

Ingredients

  1. Dry wormwood leaves – 30 g

  2. Alcohol – 60 g

  3. White wine – 100 g

Method of preparation

  1. Put the grass in a vessel, pour alcohol, let it brew for 1 day.

  2. Pour in the wine, leave to mature for 10 days, filter.

Wormwood tincture “Ordinary”

Products made on the basis of wormwood roots are used to improve appetite and in the complex treatment of tuberculosis: 1 tablespoon per day. To soften the taste, you can add a little honey to the infusion.

Ingredients

  1. Wormwood root – 30 g

  2. White wine – 0,5 l

Method of preparation

  1. Pour the roots with wine, boil for 10 minutes, sweeten with honey if desired.

  2. Let it brew until the broth cools, strain.

Wormwood tincture with anise

Ingredients

  1. Young tops of sagebrush – ¼ volume of a liter bottle

  2. Anise grains – 100 g

  3. Sugars – 30 g

  4. Vodka – 1 l

Method of preparation

  1. Put wormwood and anise in a vessel, pour in vodka, seal the bottle.

  2. Let it brew for a couple of weeks in a warm place.

  3. Pass the drink through a cloth, sweeten with sugar.

Wormwood tincture “Soothing”

Wormwood can be used both dried and fresh. To eliminate nervous tension and stabilize the mood, the drink is drunk twice a day, 10-20 drops before meals. To activate digestion, improve appetite and bowel function, wormwood tincture is mixed with mint, prepared in a similar way, and taken three times a day, 15-20 drops.

Ingredients

  1. Vodka – 1 l

  2. Wormwood grass – 50 g

  3. Sugars – 50 g

Method of preparation

  1. Grind the grass, put it in a jar, pour in vodka, seal with a lid.

  2. Leave to infuse for 2 weeks.

  3. Filter the resulting infusion, sweeten.

  4. Divide into small bottles, transfer to a dark place.
