The history of chocolate and the holiday itself
They came up with a holiday in France, in 1995. Initially, it was conceived as a national, intrastate. However, sweet lovers liked the idea, and the celebration began to be celebrated all over the world.
Mexico is considered the birthplace of chocolate. Even the ancient Mayan tribes ground cocoa fruits, mixed them with wine and added spicy herbs. The result was a drink called xocolatl. Later, the Spaniards invaded the land of the Indians, who took with them not only treasures, but also the recipe for a delicious drink. In Europe, the delicacy became so popular that it was nicknamed “Theobroma cacao”. Which means “Food of the Gods” in translation.
Chocolate was consumed in this form until the middle of the XNUMXth century. And only then, a scientist from Holland, Konrad van Couten, came up with a press that squeezed butter from cocoa beans and made a full-fledged chocolate bar.
