Workbook is the name of the Excel file. The program automatically creates an empty workbook when you run it.
How to open an existing workbook
To open the workbook you created earlier, follow the instructions below:
- Click the tab Fillet (File).
The window that opens contains all the commands associated with the workbook.
- Tab Recent (Recent) will show a list of recently used books. Here you can quickly open the desired book, if it is there.
- If it’s not there, click the button. Open (Open) to open a book that is not in the Recent Documents list.
How to close a workbook
If you’re new to Excel, it doesn’t hurt to know the difference between closing a workbook and closing Excel. This can be confusing at first.
- To close the Excel workbook, click on the bottom button X.
- If you have several books open, pressing the top right button Х closes the active workbook. If one workbook is open, clicking this button closes Excel.
How to create a new book
Even though Excel creates a blank workbook when you start it, sometimes you need to start from scratch.
- To create a new book, click the button New (Create), select Blank workbook (Blank book) and click on Create (Create).
