Women’s perfume: how to buy and choose

Even if your funds are not enough to buy, at least listen to their scent to understand what the down payment on a mortgage can be compared to.

Fragrances are not essential items like food, water or clothing. It is a pleasure for our soul. However, the price of some bottles reaches such sums that one has to save on the body. Would you like to buy such bottles?

Gold from Amouage, perfume 50 ml, 43 700 rubles

This is the most famous fragrance of the house Amouage, consisting of a combination of aldehyde-floral notes based on expensive incense, as well as a wealth of exquisite and rare components collected from different parts of the world. The perfume sounds like the great haute couture scents of the 30s. Top floral notes of lily of the valley, incense and rose give way to myrrh, jasmine and orris root, followed by a woody-musky base of cedar, sandalwood and amber.

Amber Sky by Ex Nihilo, eau de parfum, 100 ml, 42 rubles

The fragrance is part of the luxurious Babylon collection and is dedicated to the memory of a beautiful sunset from the shores of the Bosphorus, between East and West. “Amber Sky” is a metaphor for a fiery sunset and part of a composition that includes amber. The aroma unfolds smoothly and sensually – in the first notes, bergamot is replaced by woody notes of cedar, sandalwood and vanilla, gradually turning into an amber-spicy extract.

Ramon Molvizar has launched the Swarovski collection for those who do not have enough gold and silver particles inside the fragrance. The result is a symbiosis of jewelry and perfumery. However, this almost doubled the cost of the bottle. The scent itself is a memory of a bright summer – juicy fruits, splashes of lemonade, delicate flowers and a mega dose of cardamom. The fragrance is delivered to Russia on a prepaid basis.

Roja by Roja Dove, eau de parfum, 100 ml, 240 rubles

The British house of niche fragrances Roja Parfums created the Haute Luxe line and included a limited edition fragrance. A similar scent was originally created 10 years ago by perfumer Roja Dove for personal use. When creating a perfume, Roja Dove was guided by two principles: he asked himself what ingredients he liked the most and if he could afford to buy them. The result was the first version of the Roja Haute Luxe fragrance, which the perfumer wore himself and created every year for personal use in small quantities. After Roja Dove got tired of perfume, he slightly changed the composition of the composition, making his personal scent available to the public. The aroma turned out to be rich chypre in the best traditions of this genre – with oak moss, cinnamon, resins and varieties of expensive wood. Grains of gold leaf are added to the inside of the bottle. So, the fragrance turned out to be “golden” not only in price, but also in composition.

Yu Perfect Sense Mane, perfume, 50 ml, 300 rubles

The French brand Perfect Sense Mane has created a genuine perfume masterpiece – Yu, which is one of the most expensive fragrances in the world. The bottle of this fragrance is a 500-gram drop-shaped crystal vessel made by the American company Brosse. The perfume composition was created by the renowned perfumer Cecile Krakower. The name of the fragrance is translated from Chinese as “rain”. The scent was created using a special technique, thanks to which the smells of amazing plants were extracted from the air of tropical forests. What does rain smell like in rainforests? Orange blossom and bergamot, ptitgrain and freesia, as well as ylang-ylang accords. The base of the scent consists of vanilla, Egyptian vetiver and sandalwood.

Iriss by Xerjoff, perfume, 15 ml, 60 650 rubles

Every year Xerjoff produces bottles of quartz or Murano glass, and the contents of the bottle are pure perfume oil. There are bottles of many varieties of quartz – smoky, citrine, aquamarine, amethyst, rutile, lapis lazuli and rose quartz. The bottle is always made from a single piece of the highest quality rock that can be shipped from anywhere in the world (for example, lapis lazuli from Uzbekistan, rutile quartz from Australia or Madagascar). Processing takes place by hand in Piedmont. The cost of such a project is always calculated individually – the demand for stones varies in the same way as their price and quality. A bottle of amethyst will be on display in a Moscow boutique in March.

Iriss came out in the Murano collection, these are fragrances placed in Murano glass bottles. Glass is made according to ancient technologies on the island of Murano near Venice. The best Venice artists and glassblowers have released a limited edition specially for Xerjoff handmade bottles based on sketches by Sergio Momo in 2011. Florentine iris oil is like a diamond to a jeweler, an expensive ingredient that requires a beautiful cut. In the aroma, iris is tinted with rose and ylang-ylang absolutes and a sparkling note of carrot seeds. The scent is soft, powdery, giving the feeling of a second skin.

Velorum by Tiziana Terenzi, eau de parfum 100 ml, 43 rubles

The fragrance is part of the Luna Collection and is dedicated to the perfumer’s impressions of a trip to Brazil, made as a child. In the Southern Hemisphere, the stars are completely different, they are larger and brighter. The uniqueness of this fragrance lies in the use of special magic – the addition of a droplet of starlight – the rarest substances that have been carefully stored in the private library of the Terenzi family for over 50 years. From them dizzying aromatic combinations are formed and the so-called “harmonic dissonance” is born, which constitutes the author’s perfumery handwriting. The aroma is soft, delicate and subtle, like the light of distant stars: saffron, ginger, mandarin, black pepper in the top notes are replaced by nutmeg, guaiac wood, white chocolate and sandalwood in the base.
